BRETT FAVRE - WHO CARES
Sep 08, 2006 | 4:27AM | report this
Favre '99.9 percent' sure he'll retire a Packer                    Brett Favre says he's "99.9 percent" sure he'll retire as a Green Bay Packer, he can't rule out the possibility he might finish his career with another team.

The 36-year-old said he'd only consider playing elsewhere if the Packers decided they wanted to rebuild without him.

**********************

I WAS BORN ON THE PLANET EARTH - A PLANET THAT HAS AN ELEMENT CALLED REALITY.

IS THIS ELEMENT NOT FOUND IN WISCONSIN?

BRETT FAVRE IS SHOT, HE WOULD BE LUCKY  TO GET A JOB PLAYING FOR  WAL-MART'S  SATURDAY AFTERNOON FLAG FOOTBALL TEAM, AT THE LOCAL JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL FIELD.

WHY GUYS WHO ARE LUCKY TO HAVE A JOB, LOVE TO TALK ABOUT NEXT YEAR, WHEN THEY WON'T GET THRU THIS YEAR, AMAZES ME;

FAVRE CLOSES HIS EYES AND THROWS THE BALL DOWN FIELD, WHILE INVOLKING THE NAMES OF SOME GODS OF LUCK AND  GOOD FORTUNE.  THOSE GODS NO LONGER LISTEN AND THUS, FAVRE IS A SHOT QUARTERBACK.  GREAT ARM, BUT BRAIN DEAD.

LARRY HOLMES USE TO BLINK AT THE END OF HIS CAREER -- BLINK AS IF THAT WOULD MAKE THE PUNCHES GO AWAY --- FAVRE IS DOING THE SAME THING AT QUARTERBACK AND NEEDS TO TAKE A SEAT ON THE  BENCH.  COLLECT A PAYCHECK AND DREAM OF PAST GLORY.

THE GREENBAY ORGANIZATION IS NUTS TO HAVE FAVRE AROUND -- HE IS OVER THE HILL AND FAR DOWN IN THE NEXT VALLEY.

SPORTS IS ABOUT LATELY AND FAVRE HAS NO LATELY.

HIS 29 INTERCEPTIONS  OF LAST SEASON, ARE A MILESTONE HE COULD EASILY PASS BY MID-SEASON,  IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY.

I AM REMINDED OF THE MOVIE --

        " THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON'T THEY ?"

THE SAME FATE MAY AWAIT BROKEN DOWN QUARTERBACKS, WHO HANG AROUND TOO LONG.

I've stated this before at other times on this site, but I bet the Packers wish they had cut their ties with Favre a couple years ago. He is doing nothing now but impeding their rebuilding process.

the only thing worse than the packers thinking their best chance to win is with favre, and inability to see this should have been a complete rebuilding year, is their unwillingness to take the P.R. hit if they had released him or traded him in the offseason.

as for favre, he comes off as an ####, but has been trying all along to get traded, to avoid losing his blind following of fans in the process.

he made statements even before last season was over about not wanting to play for a different coach, learn a new offense, enter a season without playoff expectations, etc etc...all in the hope that the packers would seek a trade to a contender. he continues to give hints that he MIGHT be willing to accept a trade so he can get out of there, but as he is 99.9% sure he'll be a packer, so am i. i'm also 99.9% sure they'd get nothing in return if they traded him now...that is, unless they catch the vikings napping like the cowboys did when they shipped hershel walker up there for what turned out to be 3 super bowl championship teams.

and there's a history for hanging on to guys in green bay. bart starr became head coach, sucked, and hung on way longer than he should have. same with forrest gregg. the sad reality is its the organization, not favre, who deserves the lions share of blame on this issue.

I AM PRAISING MYSELF FOR NOT COPYING ALL YOUR STUFF AND SIGNING IT AS MY OWN -- PLEASE CHECK THE LOCAL POLICE RECORDS ABOUT THAT MISSING BROTHER ANGLE.

GAFF- i read that article on your site...i share the same opinion that, we as "average people" deal with the same types of tragedies as favre has. the thing the media usually fails to share with us when reporting the latest tragedy in favre's life, is that he uses the game of football as a distraction to what has happened to him, his family, and even the katrina disaster. he's not a hero for playing ball after his wife was diagnosed w/cancer, or his father passed away, he's doing it, in part, because it helps him forget that stuff for a while, just as we, as U.S. citizens, used sports to distract us for a little while after the 9/11 attacks.

thanks for the compliments on my posts...you should write more here on this site. i think your perspectives would fit in well with this crowd.

Gaff ..... Favre like some icons, he's unwilling to accept that he's fallible. Just like Jerry Rice suddenly realized one morning that he no longer had "it". Favre hasn't realized that he's lost "it" and because of his diminishing skills his team is having to suffer the consequence. The Favre we see today is a pale imitation of the Favre we'd witness five or ten years ago when he was still considered to be one of the best operating at the position. Well he's no longer that and one would even doubt that he'd be considered one of the top 15 qb's playing today.

hey, he was not half as bad as i expected him to be -- but, it is still time to bring in some young blood and build for the future and cut out this five year going away party for this over the hill guy.

you ride a horse - the horse dies - you bury the horse - you don't jump in the grave with the horse.
it is time to get the shovel out for your old horse in greenbay.
