What is RSS?
Nov 17, 2005 | 8:36PM | report this
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." Instead of having to come back to your favorite blog every day to see whether new content has been posted for you to read, you can subscribe to a site's "RSS feed." Then, using an RSS feed reader, like FeedDemon (for Windows) or NetNewsWire (for Mac), you can find out whenever a blog has been updated, without needing to check it yourself.

Still not sure what that means? Think of a microwave. When you stick dinner in the microwave, you could come back and check the microwave every twenty seconds to see if you're food's done - but that would be ridiculous! Instead, of course, the microwave beeps to let you know when the mac and cheese is warm.

In the same way, an RSS feed reader saves you from having to constantly check your favorite blogs. Rather, your feed reader tells you when there's new content to read -- and all you do is tell it which blogs to keep track of!

Your FOX Sports blog offers an RSS feed with summaries by default, which you can change in your Blog Settings.

I think that those football players in the nfl should try and contain themselfs when they make a play like tackling someone thats what they are getting pad for.And i mean they are payed very good for doing there job.

raymo31-- Your spot on. It makes me sick to watch grown men act as if the are 12 years old. The really good players like "The Bus", Alexzander,Plummer,Palmer, Rudi Johnson, you don't see these guy acting stupid.
Guys like T.O, Chad Johnson, are really hurting the game. Could you see a guy like Jim Brown acting like T.O. No way. I really miss the good old days...

You are on the money!!! The players that are humble you actually want to watch the game, when these other guys go off over a tackle, or a block it's just annoying. These guys are getting paid enough to do these things, they don't need to act like idiots!!

The evolution of the game is not pretty, nor is it correct...but I bet the majority of the fans accept it and they are the ones who are not in the position to condemn or condone....it is the backbone less commentators who really let things slide.

The Seahawks....Played thier hearts out!

The Steelers...Might as well been playing cards!

The best part of the game was Half-Time! (You Go Mick!)

The Referee's could be on the Steelers payroll, Somebody has to pay them for showing up.....

Took a Clean T/D from the Seahawks in the first half and give one to the Steelers, One sided......Well Maybe?

THE PROTEST AND REVIEW.....What we saw isn't what we got..........

The Game Stinked!

Steelers Quarter back (Roth?????) Who, was CLEARLY down at the one and aquired a free T/D by cheating and sliding the ball over the goal line. The whole nation saw it on replay......The Seahawks deserved to have the first T/D the officials called back because of the Allegedly Illegal use of hands in the end-zone is kinda like rubbing in NASCAR.....We all see it, But you dont see any races being stopped back because of it.

A Judgement call .........My (A#%)............... Get it together or get Glasses REFF!

When people are paid millions and over see the professionalism of their profession they should expect professionalism from the top down. I think Paul Tagliabue should resign if he can't expect real professionalism from the refs or body who represents the NFL we pay him to oversee. The old "head in the sand" overseer is yesterday's news. We expect true professionalism from the top down.

Has anybody see this kid ryan meehan he lives in south jersey and his a 1991.He plays for the Hollydell Hurrcaines bantam A team. Ryan plays a very strong defence. Ryan is one of the top 5 hockey players in state of new jersey at his age. This kid is really fun to watch play.Ryan is a very stong skater and he see the ice very well and he leads by example. When you get a chane to see Ryan play you,ll know the kids going to succeed in anything he desides to do in life!!

Most of you don't know what you are talking about. Have any of you ever played football? Scoring a TD is exciting and some players show it, others don't. Everyone has their own celebrations whether external or internal. So give them a break, some do they celebrations for attention, i'll give you that, but to say they are disgracing the game is bs. Football is all about entertainment and some people enjoy watching guys celebrate in odd ways. The last thing I want to say to you Seahawks fans are: it was clearly a pushoff when darrell jackson caught that TD. Good call refs. Second, the ref signalled a TD on Roethlesbergers TD dive and their CLEARLY was not enough disputable evidence to say it wasn't. SO IT'S A TD! I'm not even a Steelers fan (Vikings for life), but I think that if the ref couldn't see the ball cross the line he shouldn't have called it a TD. Peace out.

OK, you guys are going to get pissed, but can't you write in complete sentences? Does everything have to come out like you live in the "hood". I'm just as interested in your opinions as the next person, but come on, grow up, put down your @#*$ and use both hands and your mind to write.

Ok, Scot, now you've done it. Rugby, etc. (and I've even played Rugby) is an incomprehensible mosh pit of excess played with a wannabe ball.
Less is more, except when it comes to jivin' and stylin' on the field.

What the heck do football comments have to do with the Help section of this blog?

Then again, maybe those being in here have a lot to do with why I can't link to the RSS feed in MyYahoo.

Sad. RSS doesn't work, and the blog format has major limitaions. All I see in the help area isa bunch of unrelated comments to the topic I'm looking at... no help at all.

You'd think if all this effort is out there to acquire bloggers, then why not at least add all the possible XML feed solutions out there so bloggers can syndicate their stuff to the rest of the world.

So you guys agree that puting all the fun out of football is great? T.O. is just a holdout queen, but Chad Johnson is just having fun. Besides, acting like you're 12 years old was fun back in the day....when I was 12. They aren't acting 12 either, it's called showing off and having a heart that beats.

Let's get real. It's not a HOF without Pete Rose or Joe Jackson anyway. We have drunks and murderers in the HOF. You know why? Because the HOF is for what they and Big Mac did on the field, not off of it. Barry Bonds is the biggest cheater of all time and he will get in the HOF with no problem so what is different about Big Mac? Now Ken R says that he just won't vote for him to be a first ballot HOF. What kind of BLEEP is that? You are either a HOF'er or you aren't. If you don't get in on the first ballot, then you probably don't deserve to get in period. The HOF is supposed to be the best of the best, not the mediocre or above average. Big Mac, Tony Gwynn and Cal Rypkin should all get in this year because they were the best of the best during their eras. Steroids are just a part of baseball any way like spit balls and stealing signs.

The Boise State-Oklahoma game was simply the best bowl game ever for two reasons. One, a great underdog used trick plays, old-school plays to win the game. And two, Johnson proposing to his cheerleader girlfriend, now that's what makes high school and college football better than the pros. High school and college football are all about the human struggle, not a struggle for a buck. The there has never beeen a college game that gives the fad the best of both worlds.

Boise State deserves to be ahead of USC! USC lost to Oregon State, and Oregon State got spanked by Boise State so you do the math!!!!!!!!!!Down with the over-rated Trojans and GO BOISE STATE!!!!!!!!!!We have played everybody that we was asked to and won every game!!!!!!Oklahoma thought they were so great!!! But there faces proved otherwise after the Fiesta Bowl. And then for there team and head coach to talk smack after wards shows just what kind of a program Oklahoma is, a bunch of POOR SPORTS who cant face the fact that a lil no name team could be number 1!!!!!!!!

Boise State is #1 -- Finishing the math -- USC crushed Arkansas, Arkansas ran over Auburn, and Auburn beat ... FLORIDA!!

The BCS rots. It's as bad as getting playoff games decided for ratings.

I think George Maloof was wrong in allowing his coaches to let Ron Artest return to the Kings. He has proved he is no role model and has a bad time with his anger and keeping his hands to himself! He belongs in rehab for haters and hitters!

Take it from a ex-football player, when you work hard, practice and exacute to score in any sport there should be celebrations. However some players are being flagged and some aren't. If your going to make a call that call should stand for everyone, for instance the assistant coach of the Cowboys was given a suspension and fined for taking a form of HGH, The Coach of Patriots caught "RED" handed he is fined and losses a draft pick. But there are black players that are getting the more stiffer penalties.WE NEED A REAL COMMISSIONER IS TAG STILL AROUND???? THE NFL NEEDS HELP

I think the Patriots might go undefeated because they beat the Dolphins and they normally lose to them. Now the only team that stands in the way is the way is the Colts and they can bearly beat them normally now that the Patriots have Moss its going to be a hard game. The Colts will lose in the playoffs of course. I like the Colts to.

A loss of a football game does "not" compare to the losses of 9-11 or Pearl Harbor.
Saban should say he's sorry to the families that lost loved one during those events.
