The pass interference call was in my mind ticky tacky but homerism aside you dont get away with it when you are out of position as Hobbs was. The arm drapped over the shoulder was too much contact for him to get away with it and he was rightly penalized. Great effort to try and make that play and im willing to bet 4 or 5 times out ten no flag is thrown.
Charlie Frye in his second start in a Seattle uniform proved my su####ions that he was in a bad situation in Cleveland and he could succeed on a different team. His arm strength surprised me he was zipping passes in all game. Also, his performance has left me to believe that the Hawks have the best group of QB's in the league.
On Sproles performance its great to see a young small guy take it to the house and he definitely has talen but lets not forget that the Chargers have one of the most complete O'lines in the league and minus a bad snap the back up center didnt inhibit them. Like chargersone has alluded to teams dont play their hands in preseason and somebody as seasoned as Mike Holmgren and the Hawk defense is no different.
On the negative side Justin Forsett had his first pedestrian outing of the preseason and left me unimpressed with his returning skills. What happened to the fair catch in the NFL?
Olindo Mare missed a 50 yarder and honestly its not much cause for concern taking the distance into account but I would like him to hit a couple in preseason if i am to take him over the youth of Coutu.
Lastly, these nagging little injuries don't appear to be horrible, but the thing with nagging injuries is they persist and possibly inhibit performance the Hawks need to heal up in the next two weeks.
