What can you say about this man? Here he is two months off of his third surgery on the left knee, the pain is registering on his face and demeanor shot after shot as he torques that knee again and again, he’s made more double bogeys in this U.S. Open than all of the other major title matches he’s played in, combined, and he’s made miracle shots to claim the lead on the final hole he played on the third round… The man is simply amazing as he limps toward his fourteenth major championship.
If you are an outdoorsman, then you know that an animal is most dangerous when it has been wounded, and it appears that this may just be the case when it comes to this type of Tiger too.
Woods will be paired with Englishman Lee Westwood as the last twosome to step off in the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines this afternoon. Can he pull off this unlikely win and add yet another epitaph to his ever growing legend?
I’m here to tell ya folks, this is the greatest golfer to ever come down the road, and we all get to watch him play!
i hope so!!!! i ahve friends who golf, and i saids once to one of them hey it would be fun to golf with you guys someday... but??? we would have to start early in the morning to finish by sunset!!! how bad a golfer i am!!!

I know some really good golfers that do that... Difference is they play like 54 holes! lol
Don't give up! I went and played a round this morning. It rained last night here in central Florida so everything was wet and slow greens, but a beautiful morning! Fresh air, wildlife all around, great time to be out!
Now I'm ready to settle in this afternoon and catch Tiger!
I think that's what he was trying to do yesterday and then circumstances demanded he go below par... The beauty of it, jon, he was able to pull that kind of play out of himself...
It is and a story book endding for him to raise the trophy to the sky and say happy Fathersday and I bett it will be emotional and wet eyes.
Not that I will have any of that, I have already done that with Dale Jr winning for his father in the sky. Cheers Dwindy and see you on the track tomarrow.
WATCHING THE OPEN today was excitng..however I believe it was Johnny Miller made TWO very disrespecful remarks that NEED TO BE addressed..he said Rocco was more like the GUY who should be cleaning your POOL...he then went on to say a name like ROCCO does not belong on the US OPEN trophy...exactly what is he saying...if it is just babble to fill airtime..... he should THINK FIRST OR SAY NOTHING AT ALL..HOW SAD FOR GOLF..AS TODAY A GREAT COMPETOR WAS GIVEN NO RESPECT BY ONE OF GOLF'S OWN

I was in and out early on during yesterday's telecast and must have missed the comments you mentioned. If Miller did utter those things I agree they are off base and he should be called on them... How come no one is being adamant about it? Haven't heard a word about it...
I wish the Open was being broadcast on any of the other networks verses NBC anyway.
I'm obviously pulling for Tiger Woods, but it wouldn't bother me if Rocco Mediate would win this thing...
It's everyman in golf verses the world champion, albeit the champ isn't at his best. Quite a story line... You're right, it's hard to pull against Rocco. You might run into him down at the local pub after the match...
Wow, has this been a great tourney!, Let me ask everyone is Tiger that good, or is the golfers now aday average with great equipment? watching the Open, and seeing all these "Pro" golfers miss fairway after fairway, and then recover because they are able to hit the ball further with the new clubs, it like you could stretch the course even further, and it wouldnt make a difference!
The U.S. Open course is annually set-up to be the most difficult as it can be. The roughs are truly rough. You see the golfers drive into the rough and the ball disappears in the 5" grass... The pen placements on the greens are the most difficult they can be... Torrey Pines is playing at the longest distance of any U.S. Open course in the history of the event... Couple all of this with huge crowds cheering, taking pictures, walking all over the place and so on. Plus the aircraft circling overhead and the fact that the event is being broadcast all over the world (intimadation factor), and it's a wonder these golfers get below par... In fact, last year's U.S. Open winner scored above par to win the tournament! These are the greatest golfers in the world using the highest technological clubs, balls, training, etc. and yet they are being humbled by this course...
