Out of left field has come an intriguing three-way trade that looks like it just may fly! After several years of frustration, and now seeing their old rival, the Boston Celtics, put themselves in a position of dominance in the NBA's Eastern Conference, the New York Knicks have entered into negotiations with a long-time New York icon, The Radio City Music Hall.
It's been kept quiet for several months and only recently surfaced that the Music Hall has been floundering in red ink. Evidently Knicks General Manager, Isiah Thomas, found out about this while dating a former dancer with the Rockettes. This got the ball rolling, so to speak, and one thing has led to another.
The Knicks have agreed to send several million dollars (the total remains to be seen) to Radio City. The Music Hall in turn will ship the famed Rockettes to the Los Angeles Lakers which, in turn, will send Kobe Bryant to the Knicks.
Kobe is my kind of guy, GM Thomas tells the media.
Kobe is in favor of the trade since none of the current Knicks will be involved in the deal. He has also publicly stated that he and GM Thomas have so much in common. He's ready to light up New York!
"It's a deal made in Heaven" Bryant gushed while his wife skeptically looks on.
On the Laker side of things, owner Jerry Buss, who admits always being enthralled with the Rockettes, has expressed great personal satisfaction with the deal!
Dr. Jerry Buss, seen here with two of the famed Rockettes.
Dr. Buss went on to say that since the Lakers won't be putting the same quality basketball team on the court as has been the team's history, he feels that the top rate dancing troupe will keep the Los Angeles Laker faithful coming to the Forum.
One Laker fan, Jack Nicholson (seen below when told about the proposed trade), has let it be known that once he thought the deal through, he can't wait to see the extravaganzas his old buddy Dr. Buss is planning!

The latest rumour surrounding Bryant's departure was that he was upset that if in the trade he was sent to the Bulls. And Luol Deng wasn't there for him to play alongside. Then he'd have none of it.
So therein lies also the fact that the Bulls may well have been willing to let Wallace go to the Lakers along with Artest going there as part of a three way team deal. Interesting about the only one having fun in the midst of this Phil Jackson as he's nailin' the boss's daughter.
The intrigue is so entertaining !
Might work. Buss has undoubtably gone through every 18-22 year old west of the Mississippi that is impressed by money. Assuming of course they didn't get tucked away, never to be seen again in the Hefner mansion.

About the only thing that could top what's happening in L A at the moment. Is the thought of seeing both Jack Nicholson and Dyan Cannon streak across the Staples Center at the same time. That'd be a thought and at the same time comical in watching wouldn't it ? It'd probably be also a highlight of a game.
