I'm a longtime Seahawks fan...
I have to conclude that Mike Holmgren has lost his fire for the game. His offense has devolved to a simplistic pattern that includes a 2-3 yard Alexander run, a short pass to the right for no gain, and then a medium to long pass up one or the other sideline (incomplete). The defense seems to focus on a certain type of play (probably from last week's film) and the opponent has changed up to exploit the Seahawks for just that type of defense... It's like the defense is one step back and continually trying to catch up. This is not a good situation.
Mike, it's becoming obvious that you are a short timer here so why don't you loosen up, open up your playbook and have some fun. The light over your head just might turn on. Just give the team a chance, go out with a blaze of glory rather than the whimper it appears you're headed for. In the same light, give the defense it's rein and let them swarm to the ball. Take chances! Quit being so afraid that something bad is going to happen and let them play the game!
What I don't get is his total ineptness at hurry up offense. The two minute drill he ran against the Steelers was a disgrace. It just seems that the Seahawks look absolutley lost when they have to go without a huddle.
Players still need to execute the plays....I'd like to take this opportunity to laugh at the individual who was stroking Matt Hasselbeck, and his so-called leadership (you know under achieving year after year in an easy division!!!!).....Boy he looked great last night!!!!!!hahahahahha
BTW, I did notice on several occassions during the telecast last night, that Holmgren had that same ####, expressionless face that Art Shell perfected last year in Oakland.....
obviously you didnt watch the game slapntickel because hasselbeck actually did good he had over 300 yards passing 3 tds and about a 100 qb rating so if thats not good then you dont know anything about football
Holgren is suffering from short timers disease. The problem with the defense is John Marshall. Alexander got his money and now he takes a hit and quits, thinking about what hes going to be doing later ON HIS YAGHT. Shaun is a punk.
Hass is trying to do it all himself. He is also dealing with an offensive team that seems to be contantly changing. Whether its linemen, or fullbacks or receivers/tight ends. Nothing stays the same for him. Now on one hand I feel for the guy. But on the other hand, he should remove the names from the palyers and just throw the goddam ball. Alexander playing football like a man instead of a little girl would help calm Hass down. Right now the guys an island. He doesnt even have his coach.
One bright spot right now, Leonard Weaver. He's going to be absolutely fantastic.

Sorry, can't find a button or option to turn comments on.
Hasselbeck did throw well, but still looked a little ackward and had the "deer in the headlights look" when he got rushed (the ones he saw coming). He also let his frustration show, again. I know that he's only human, but I can't think of anything that would charge up a defense more than seeing a QB lose his cool.
It's time,I think, for the Seahawks to slow down the pace on offense. Yes,the quick strike and no-huddle can wear out and confuse a defense. However, trying to go for a rapid tempo has been accompanied by too many drops and turnovers lately.
See if slowing things down won't get defenses antsy about the clock and allow the Hawks offense to avoid the stupidity that may be a result of speed (What was it that Ben Franklin said?).
