My Picks
Jul 31, 2008 | 8:07PM | report this

first of all i would like to thank you 4 reading my blog. before we get into my picks for the upcoming NFL Season let me give u some info. i have been picking before the season for 3 yrs now this is my 3rd, my first year i picked the Colts v.s the Eagles and the Colts would win. i was right. last season i picked the Chargers v.s the Rams that didnt turn out as planned. 3/4 superbowl teams i have picked have made the playoffs so i am pretty accurate. i have been working on this for a little over a month. hope you injoy i would like to hear your comments.

NFC East: The Cowboys are just a to talented of a team for me not to rank the champs of the east. The Redskins could make there case with Jason Taylor. This is a very tough Division.

 1. Dallas Cowboys

 2. Washington Redskins

 3. New York Giants

 4. Philadelphia Eagles

NFC North: From the strongest to the weakest division. my cat could make a prediction here and could be right. My pick is the Pakers Aaron Rodgers has been working under a future HOF QB and has all the tools to take this team places

 1. Green Bay Packers

 2. Chicago Bears

 3. Detroit Lions

 4. Minnesota Vikings

NFC West: this division will still be owned by the seahawks but teams are coming to take the crown.

 1. Seattle Seahawks

 2. San Francisco 49ers

 3. Arizona Cardinals

 4. St. Louis Rams

NFC South: this will be one of the division to keep your eye on this will be a tight race between the Saints and the Bucs. Bucs Bros this is my prediction im still on the home team.

 1. New Orleans Saints

 2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

 3. Carolina Panthers

 4. Atlanta Falcons

AFC East: This division is still owend by the pats but there are up and coming teams that could take it from them years down the road.

 1. New England Patriots

 2. Buffalo Bills

 3. Miami Dolphins

 4. New York Jets

AFC South: the Colts have dominated this division 4 years but i think this is the year that they get kicked off the throne. Peytons injury scares me a little bit. The Jags didnt have the draft they needed they are an ok team but in the south they will get burried alive. Vince young will become the great QB that he should and will be.

 1. Tennessee Titans

 2. Indianapolis Colts

 3. Houston Texans

 4. Jacksonville Jaguares

AFC West: The Chargers have got a case of the injury bug LT, Antonio Gates, and Phillip Rivers. The Broncos have been in the shadows for 2 years now and now its time to shine.

 1. Denver Broncos

 2. San Diego Chargers

 3. Kansas City Chiefs

 4. Oakland Raiders

AFC North: the AFC North is up for grabs but the team with the most controversy will grab it. the Bengals will be succesful. they will be back to playing Marvin Lewis football.

 1. Cincinnati Bengals

 2. Pittsburgh Steelers

 3. Clevland Browns

 4. Baltimore Ravens

Like what you see so far? here are the playoff standings for both confrences.

NFC Playoff Standings:                                   AFC Playoff Standings:

 1. Dallas Cowboys
1. Tennesse Titans

 2. Green Bay Packers                                     2. New England Patriots

 3. Seattle Seahawks                                       3. Cincinnati Bengals

 4. New Orleans Saints                                    4. Denver Broncos

 5. Chicago Bears
 5. Indianapolis Colts

 6. Washington Redskins                                6. Houston Texans

                                      WILD CARD WEEKEND

6.REDSKINS @ 3.SEAHAWKS

This will be a good game a rematch of last year i beleve that the Redskins will get the best of the Seahawks this time around.

 6.TEXANS @ 3.BENGALS

i like the Texans in this one there team has really improved and i can see that.

 5.BEARS @ 4.SAINTS

the Bears will win this one i like kevin jones i think he will help whoever the starting QB is.

 5.COLTS @  4.Broncos

the Colts will win they are just too strong of a team for the broncos to take.

          DIVISIONAL ROUND

 6.REDSKINS @ 1.COWBOYS

a classic NFC East matchup but i like Dallas in a close one

 6.TEXANS @ 1.TITANS

cant go against the titans they will be a very good squad this season.

 5.BEARS @ 2.PACKERS

i like the packers in this divisional matchup it will be whos offense scores more points.

 5.COLTS @ 2.PATRIOTS

this is the best rivalry in the NFL i like the Colts to get the best of the almost perfect pats in this one.

                           NFC CHAMPIONSIP

           2.PACKERS @ 1.COWBOYS

the Cowboys defense will walk all over the packers offense the Cowboys will be NFC Champs

           AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

     5.COLTS @ 1.TITANS

this will be an ultimet battle of the south but this time the titans will win in a dramatic OT game.

     SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Titans v.s Cowboys

This will be a superbowl to watch it wont be a blow out but i dont think it will be as exciting as last years superbowl game. i say the cowboys win by 1 or 2 scores.

so my superbowl pick is the Dallas cowboys against the titans and the cowboys winning it they have a talented team i think jerry jones finally has all the pices of the puzzel togeather. talk about ironic Pacman  beating his former team the titsans in the biggest game of all. send those comments.

You're the first person I've seen pick the Titans to have any success. That's a surprise. I think the Skins are going to be really good this year. I think Carolina will be a sleeper this year.

I'm a Seahawks fan, so naturally I want to see them in the Super Bowl. Just like last season, I will predict a Seahawks vs Chargers Super Bowl.

The Titans haven't had success since McNair was in his prime, and that was nearly a decade ago. I only see the Titans as an 8-8 team. Who does Vince Young have as receivers? He can't win games by himself. In fact, 8-8 is optimistic for the Titans. The Texans have a good chance to pass them up. And Denver as the AFC West champs? That's laughable! Denver and KC will battle it out for the AFC West cellar. Cincy? Please.

I agree on only three of your choices as division champs: Dallas, Seattle, and New England. I'm not sold on the Cowboys even making it to the Super Bowl. Romo fades as the regular season concludes and disappears in the postseason. DON'T sleep on the Panthers. Jake Delhomme's healthy, the O-line is much improved, they have a battering ram in Jonathan Stewart that will chew up yards and clock, and the receiving corps is improved. If the Panthers are healthy, don't be surprised if they play the Chargers in SB 43.

Thanks for the post. I needed a good laugh. The Chargers have two injury concerns coming into the preseason games. Gates and Hardwick should both be okay by the start, or shortly after the start of the season. Rivers and LT are fine and ready to go. They are both fully participating in camp workouts and practices. Also, the Broncos managed to score a total of six points in two games against the Bolts last year. The Charger defense is returning and healthy. Even with backups in, I don't see the Broncos shutting out the Chargers.

Not to mention, the Chargers have a cupcake schedule. They will have a hard time not making the playoffs.

I don't agree with most of you predictions but I wll sayt the Chargers are too good of a team to not win their division even if Gates' injury is serious. Rivers can get the job done and LT is LT. They will win, maybe not as easy as last year but they will win the West.

I would watch out for the Texans as a WC this year, they went 8-8 in the toughest division in football with more starters on IR than any team. Mario Williams got snubbed out of a pro bowl trip, and Andre Johnson is the forgotten member of the elite reciever club. Their biggest challange is the division they play in, but I really think the Texans get a WC spot.

I think whatever team wins the NFC East will have no more than 12 wins so I doubt they get first seed in the playoffs. First seed will go to Seattle or the Saints.

I agree with this guy above me. The Saints or Seattle will have the highest seed come playoff time. Dallas is...well Dallas and they are choke artist when it comes to playoffs.

Jon,
I think your Panthers may need another year befor they are ready to be a real force in the NFC. You are counting on Stewart being a battering ram but he hasn't suited up and played against anyone in the NFL yet. Also not many QB's comeback from Tommy John surgery. Not saying he can't or won't, I'm just saying there's a 50/50 chance. I can be wrong about this as well but I think Peppers lost it. Not his skill or anything like that but rather his motivation or he just doesn't want to be in Carolina anymore. Although this is a contract year for him so......

Hey Dillion...good job.

I do however, feel you are smokin' something really good to think the 49ers are going to take 2nd in the West. I want some! LOL

Dude, I cant see any team other than the Cards taking Seattle down for once. Hopefully it will be that year. But the Niners? They will finish dead last as the Rams have made some good aquisitions, and I think they will do much bettter than last year.

Cards win the West!

dillion, I must say that I was expecting you to give it to the Bucs in the South...thanks for the respect. That being said...the Bears? The titans? The Jags @ the bottom of their division? The Bengals? Dude...granted the phrase "any given sunday" comes from the NFL (ie: anything is possible...just ask Kevin Garnett)...I would be hard pressed to say that the Bears are going to have any success, much less make the playoffs...MUCH LESS BEAT THE SAINTS!!

the titans will be the weakest team in the afc south, the colts and jags will battle for the crown, with whoever's in 2nd, and the texans taking the wildcard... imo

DILLION - Do your parents know the amount of weed your smoking. If your serious about playing football I would strongly suggest you stop smoking out every day. Half of your blog calls are right the other of your calls are way off. Young man you have alot to learn about the game. Your a BUCS fan and dont know #### about the team you pull for what so ever . Read again any of the people who agree with your calls. It only because you picked there teams thats it . {THINK} AGAIN YOUR OFF BIG TIME TRY AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!

GO BUCS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rusty, no i wasnt smoking when i did this. honestly u could flip a coin between the Bucs and the Saints and u could be right. and i have been playing football 4 years. i dont smoke weed. and im not pulling for the saints. i looked at this at a sports writers point of view. and i honestly think it will be close. And i do keep close tabs on my team. i put my fan hood aside doing theses picks. are defense will be in the top 5 again this year but lets face it we need WRs!!!!! if we went like u said and brought in aquain boldin the bucs would easily win the divition.

You are leaving out a hell of alot Boldin will not happen for the BUCS. Basing your call because of one player AGAIN tells me you know NOTHING ZERO ZIP about your so called team THE BUCS ! No dought the Saints will be good. The winner of the south will go down to the last game BUCS-SAINTS. There will be a wild card team in the south. If we picked up BOLDIN we would still fight to the finish NOT EASY BY NO MEANS . Dillion you dont know #### about the BUCS . Kid you dont have to say they will win it all but you need to do your home work alot better. Who knows maybe there really not your team go ahead jump ship if you wish. GO BUCS FAITHFUL FAN SINCE 1976 !!!!!!!!!!

Dillon, you are absolutely HIGH. The Chargers not making the playoffs? We beat the Broncos a combined 63-6 last year. We have the division locked up. Stick to basketball, as my seven year old daughter knows more about football than you do. Thank you for the good laugh!

Every team here has a chance to win, I dont care much for Romo, but too much talent otherwise for them not to win the division
1.Cowboys
2.Redskins wildcard
3.Giants wildcard
4.Eagles
Division will finally go to Vikings
1.Vikings
2.Packers
3.Lions
4.Bears
Seahawks still have the division, barely
1.Seahawks
2.Cardinals
3.Ram
4.49ers
Saints my pick to win NFC
1.Saints
2.Buccaneers
3.Panthers
4.Falcons
Still just too much talent to overtake the Pats
1.Patriots
2.Bills
3.Jets
4.Dolphins
Really have me surprised here Dillion, Jaguars could be in SB
1.Jaguars
2.Colts wildcard
3.Texans
4.Titans
Tie for division at 11-5, but Broncos win tie-breaker
1.Broncos
2.Chargers wildcard
3.Raiders 9-7
4.Chiefs
I like the chances of Browns, Steelers or Bengals to win
1.Browns
2.Bengals
3.Steelers
4.Ravens

NFC Championship....Saints over Cowboys
AFC Championship....Jaguars over Patriots

SuperBowl....Saints over Jaguars

so can you tell me how you correctly picked the colts and eagles in the superbowl... ya the colts won that year but the eagles didnt make it to the superbowl... and having 3/4 superbowl teams make the playoffs isnt impressive at all... i mean you pick who you think is the best in each conference and then when they make the playoffs then thats impressive?

and your picks this year are awful... the jags and chargers are two of the top 5 teams in the league and neither one is gonna make the playoffs?

and the titans in the superbowl?

by the way your way underestimating the eagles this season
