For starters, boating is a privlledge not a right. When you put a boat on water you are subject to random inspections, it's the law.
Second, completely complient means he puts on the life jacket and goes with the cops to shore. If he is innocent he can't wait to do a breathalizer AND give blood. It makes his civil case stronger.
Thirdly, you don't have to be "drunk" to be over the limit, have the bombardment of tv ads shown us all that yet.....duhhhh!
And honey, pictures don't prove he didn't drink. your word means nothing, of course your going to lie against the POPO. That's what you do when 5-O catches you rolling dirty.
Lastly, pepper spray is the accepted non-lethal use of force. He coulda been tased, coulda been hit with batons, COULDA been shot! The cops were smart, used their tools, and subdued a LARGE anrgy Black man with obviously above average strength. If the cops fought with him and his career ended with an injury the NAACP and ACLU would all be screaming, "WHY DIDN"T HE USE THE PEPPER SPRAY, ISN"T THAT STANDARD ISSUE"

I used to live down there where this happened. Those Lake Cops are usually more friendly than the average Po-Po. He must have been really bad to get the partial "Treatment".....Ive seen them tow the boat to shore and send folks home with their friends....
Dude he got at least one witness who says that the cops used excessive force. Also there is a time when you use pepper spray. You don't just whip it out when you feel like it and spray it.
Thank goodness I live in the US where people have rights and those charged with protecting and serving the citizens NEVER abuse their positions. It's almost as if I live a fairytail life. I am so lucky...
Don't get me wrong, the POPO could have very well did him like King, no wait he didn't have a mark. Grow up RAM if it was 1955 they would have been fishing him from the bottom of the lake. They Pepper sprayed him, that's it. Your grandma can carry pepper spray. If he was screaming, then I guess the pepper spray worked. And as for waterboarding, gee wonder where the passenger picked that word up from, police have to decontaminate someone they sprayed or else Ram would be crying that the police let him "suffer". The screaming was to draw attention so his civil suit will look better. Like I said Dank all he had to do is cooperate, give the test which would have read 0s and he would have a better leg to stand on. Even the team is abandoning him, did you read....he came with baggage and problems....sounds like john Q citizen to me...NOT

Funny, it was just released that another witness at the lake and not a friend of Benson, recanted the same story giving by the other witness. Funny how that works. I know it's not 1955 but hey, cops have been dirty forever and that doesn't change but in your world, cops can do no wrong. they can even shoot an unarmed civilian 50 times and get off. I guess he was drunk on his boat as well. Citizens of America need to open their eyes and realize that they, meaning the police, are just as human as you or i and are subject to screw ups just like us.
Sorry, still doesn't excuse Benson from not going to shore to finish the tests. And you don't have to be "drunk"to be over the limit. Problem is many "citizens of america" want to do what they want how they want when the want. You generalized statements about cops tells me you are ignorant to the job that YOU ask them to do everyday. Yes there have been bad cops, there are also bad doctors, dirty lawyers and politician, bad 7-11 clerks too. I sure there have been a dirty Texan in history as well..so all texans are dirty? In a sue happy world everyone claims the same thing to put a spin on what happened. I am sure every prisoner in jail will say they were innocent.
Desertkobefan, it's like this, from your blog, your statements condemend the man before he had his day in court. That is the problem, people convict before the entire truth is out.
From your statements, all cops are dirty. I am tired of people blaming others, esp. the police, for a situation of their own doing. Come on RAM, do you really think he was on his 30ft boat with 15 friends and he was not drinking.......do ya? I bet you still think OJ is innocent too.

Actually, I fully believe OJ did it. i just hate it when people presume innocence or guilt before the justice system froves it either way. You can twist it all kinds of ways but you believe no matter what policemen say, they are right. they are human and can do just as you or I. I'm not saying Benson is guilty, I'm saying he is innocent until proven guilty, but I guess that doesn't matter to you.
Listen Ram, one thing I have learned is people don't accept responsibility for their actions. I am a cop, 24 yrs, so I see through the lies. The lame excuses for Benson's actions, his so called witnesses who I GUARRANTEE will not tell the truth because they want to continue riding around on his 30 ft boat and spend his money. If he was innocent he would have taken the damn tests and shoved his 0% blood alcohol in the cops face with a law suit. You are right, people are innocent until proven guilty. I just hate people trying to prove themselves innocent by attacking police conduct when the right thing to do was follow the orders....how many times do I need to say that RAM Just do what you were told to do...boating, driving are a priviledge not a RIGHT.
Look, I never said he was guilty, personally, I don't care. But, you were not there and neither was I. What I am simply stating is that you let the courts hanle it and hopefully the TRUTHA AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH will come out. Just because you are an officer of the law and if you are a good one, I commend you but it doesn't make you automatically right. Just like being a citizen doesn't make me right. I can admitt that we have been mislead and lied too by citizens and witnesses alike. But, you have to admitt that there have been and still are some undesirable officers out there as well.
