After seeing his orchestrated response to reporters about the events that transpired last weekend, I came to the conclusion that it was almost brilliant. I mean come on, he bout a new lambourghini, after all this complaining about his contract all summer. Then he probably was out partying and decided to see how fast he could go. Partying = drinking, and drinking + a wreck = police = breathilyzer = DUI = possible suspension by everybody's favorite commish.
Instead he avoided some of that by bookin( running), and calling a tow truck. He blew it though, by calling the police and reporting it stolen. Instead of just taking the hit financially( car looked totaled), he tried to get over on his insurance company by reporting it stolen. Here is where he could have got into a lot of troble but also drew a bunch of unnecessary attention. The average fan probably has turned on him and this also could affect his free agency next year.
So in conclusion, Briggs probably did panic after the accident but his reasons are murky. His actions later showed me that he was thinking, but he does play linebacker, so he had some mental breakdowns. Thanks to this climate that Goodell has created, we sit and wait, and look to the league office for his punishment.
Huge NFL and college football fan who has controvertial views of most sport topics. Big Cowboys fan, from Dallas area but lives in D.C. so I am constantly tortured by the dilusional fans of the Deadskins!!
