Both of you know how much I love the Quality Start – right now in the NL as a whole; there is a perfect 1:1 correlation between QS and Wins:

what in your definition is a quality start

I believe it's at leat 6 innings pitched, giving up less than four runs. You wouldn't think it'd be that hard, but the numbers don't lie. Killed the Braves last year.

Generally, a quality start is 6 IP, and 3 ER or less. Some people also include 7 IP and 4 ER or less.

Interesting correlation you've come across here.

Take caution, though, as correlation does not equal causation.
