Is it me or has Barry Bond's chase for Aaron overshadowed Ken Griffey Jr. success of late, or any player at that? Yeah Barry hit #752 and #753 against the Cubs today as of the 7th inning, but what about the rest of the league and players?
I'm interested in Barry's homerun record, but yet I rather see or hear about other players and teams that are doing some outstanding things.
Such as the Cubs, they haven't been anywhere near for a fight for first unless it's at the beginning of the season. I'm a Cub fan so that’s why I choose that team.
Ken Griffey earned his 2,500 hit and also moved to 6th on the homerun list trailing Sammy Sosa by 15 homers for 5th. He's been in a sum what slump for a while, but now is coming back.
I know there are many stories to talk about in this league other than Bonds. You know one comment about it. I feel that Baseball is likening the fact that Bonds is a magnet for fans and that brings $$.
Griffey is a good story. always has been. He's a likable guy.
Never seems to have any bad words with the press, or if he does, they are quickly forgotten.
Maybe he doesn't get the media coverage because he's not involved in a drama circus like many other atheltes are recently.

DEI, I agree with you and Tex on Griffey, I wonder how many homeruns he would have if he wasn't so injury prone. And I truly believe he has always did it the 'right' way.
Hey thanks if one of you 2 are in for it, write a deal about Griffey, I'm not into the sport as much as I use too. Griffey to me stands out better than Bonds will ever.
Hey I'm Aaron just here to write about some of the major topics in sports. I'm a Nascar fan hands down and yes Nascar is a SPORT! My favorite driver is Dale Jr., but I also like Stewart. Earnhardt Sr. will always be my man for sure.
