There are several bloggers who I regularly have give-and-take with here on FOX Sports. I think for the most part we write for each other's company since nobody at FOX seems to be paying any attention to us and I have'nt seen any inkling of another contest coming up anytime soon.
Nevertheless, we write and we write and we write, and we argue some, then we shout at each other, call each other morons and the cycle continues. Regardless, it gives those of us who actually enjoy writing and working on our craft an audience no matter how small and irrelevant.
I personally, love the blogging community. I think it's information exchange at it's finest and in several years as major news network anchors become more and more obsolete, people will simply choose which blogger they believe more and that is where they'll get their information from.
I have about 15 blogs and several podcast across the net under different names and subject matter. I'm like the blogging version of Prince (or rather the artist formerly known as Prince).
Lately, however, I see an increase in the number of people who have music on their blogs, a concept which I do not understand at all.
My personal favorite musicians or groups, in no particular order are, Kurt Cobain, The Aforementioned Artist who goes by different names, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Jodeci, KRS ONE and yes the Allman Brothers. In fact, "Midnight Rider" barely lost out to Redman's "I'll Be Dat" as my personal theme song (see 'I'm Gonna Get You Sucka'). And yes all of those artists are in the MP3's of the Caddy and the Range right now.
Many of you probably do not like all if not any of those artists for all I know. So I will not burden you with having to endure my personal favorites when I'm priveledged (sic) enough to have you stop by my blog to pay attention to what I'm thinking at any given moment.
We meet up here for sports talk, this isn't MySpace!
So what gives with all of the musical pages. There are several things to consider when you decide to blast us with your musical faves on your sports blog:
#1. What if your reader happens to be at work or at home late at night while his/her family is sleeping and all of the sudden we click to your page and ...Mama don't let your babies grow up to be Cowboys!!!! What if your boss, who is in the office next door, actually likes Cowboys? What if my wife doesn't like country music disturbing her sleep? What if that's the song me and my ex broke up to?
Can you see the hysteria you may be causing?
#2. What if I pull into my driveway and my wife and daughter are on the front porch with a little bird they found in the front yard, and I spend the next hour online trying to figure out exactly what kind of bird it is and playing various bird sounds to see if I can get a reaction out of the bird when I shift gears, go to FOX Sports, click your blog and I get...Music makes you lose control!!!!
I guess I might be too old school for many of today's younger bloggers, judging by my musical tastes, that's probably a safe assumption, still, if you want me to hear your tracks, just give me a hyperlink to your MySpace or Facebook page and I will happily check them out.
As for the sports blogs, unless it's a vintage Cossell - Ali verbal sparring session, a classic Harry Carey or Billy Crystal 'take me out to the ballgame' rendition, or a hilarious Mike Tyson ear or children eating montage don't you think that we could find our own way to hot tunes?
The musical blogs don't irritate me nearly as much as those who put the same exact blog in two different categories so I won't have the chance to read an additional blogger who might have been a positive blogger saying "why not" instead of "why"?
Of course you wouldn't. So now we have found a way to irritate each other...again. Check out the comments on my NFL version. I notice you didn't leave a comment on THAT post. I wonder why?
I left a comment. You deleted it. So what? Two people on this blog have music that I am aware of. Gambit and Underage. Big deal. Why don't you complain about NOTHING.
I kind of like seeing the kind of music people put on, don't really care for most of it but I do know where the "mute" button on my computer is, so if at work or home late it's no problem...
Some great stuff right now on 54fulltilt's blog (Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Bob Marley)!
BTW, props and bonus points for irritating Nique !!
you put the same exact blog in three categories and then talk about others being disruptive? Your little complaint is so important that you have to take up the slots of two others who might have something to say of interest about what this blog is supposed to be about and that is SPORT??? Isn't that what you said? Your little WHINE is so important because 2-3 people are doing it so you gotta get all sensitive about it and spam the blogs. And you can't see the immaturity in that? Whatever.

Sorry to disappoint you Nique, but I never delete a comment that someone has left on any of my posts. I'm always thankful that they decided to stop by, even you. So something must have went wrong with FOX when you left the comment. Feel free to leave it again.
You hit the nail right on the head, I wanted to gauge the response from different tags. As much as she plucks my nerves, this site wouldn't be the same without Nique. If you've ever written professionally you find out that your biggest haters are usually your most avid readers. You have to learn to engage them moreso than anyone else.
You want your circulation up? Hire me to write on your sports page. Get me syndicated and I'll give you 25%.
And by the way, where were you when i was warring over the photo being up saying kobe "raped a white woman" the other day. I would have thought you of all people would have checked in on my side on that one.
3.) I don't go on your blog Worst because even though Curley irritates me at least he's a worthy opponent. You're, well like I say, I don't go on your blog.
4.) you have been allowed to post on my blog a few times here lately without being deleted Worst because you followed MY blog rules that say you don't insult me personally off the subject and here you are doing it again. You didn't even talk to anything I said here. Just out doing a little evening harassing stroll is it? Guess what? You just earned yourself another week on my blog of don't bother to post because you ain't being viewed on my blog. You're just too dumb to realize I'm not intimidated by you. I don't delete you out of fear or anger. I delete you for being stupid and I don't tolerate ignorance lightly.

Sorry but I have to take Nique side on this. If you want to see my total response to your post see the one I left under the NFL tag.
Also I started this trend so if you want to be mad at someone try me. I'm a nice guy but unless you have any validity in your argument I'll cut you down and smoke you like a hemp plant.
When I started putting music in my blogs, it was for fun thats all. I did think about the quiet type, but I assumed they might already have their speakers turned down since there are various other noises that come from surfing the net or even just turning on your computer.
WestSeattle,
yes I remember you know buddy. Yes you started the music on the blog thing but I put a music player on my blog and helped a few others get it as well. Speaking of which since you put that one song on my blog would you be so kind as to remove it so it doesn't interfere with my player. Both start automaticaly and sometimes intereferes. it #### when it does that. I appreciate you doing that though. Have a great week my friend and if people do not like your music then they are the ones with the problem not you. No need to be sorry for that. I'll never apologize for it.
Curly Mo,
If as you say can find your way easily to "The hot tunes" then I'm pretty sure your smart enough to find your way to the pause button on the player itself. Just my opinion.
It should be gone buddy. I'm glad you're doing better. I had to dig deep for that post, you've been very busy. Keep on, keeping on gambitxxx. I'll see ya around buddy.

When I added my Dizzer music box, I gave warning to #### up the speakers cause I had music, Plus I like to hear it as I do my blog. I also change my song to what might be typed or feeling mood. I also tell everyone go ahead and a look and change it to your favorit song while you read.
Most bloggers can do more then one thing at a time and I hope they can listen to music and read, What about work ? If they are sneeking on line while at work when they should be working then thats thier fault.
I can undestand you my lose readers because of it, or lets hope if they like your stuff they will still come to read but just have the sound down. Again doing to things at the same time clicking on the blog and turing down your speakers.
I agree with the above about posting in every catagory, that is just shamless. Cheers
Forensic,
I agree, in fact see my comment about this matter that I left him on the one he tagged with the NFL.
Midnite,
I respect you just as I do anyone here. However the only thing I see as juvenile is whinning about something so simple. What others put on their blogs is their right. They are offending nobody by doing so.
I guess it's hard to read when you're all worked up, but if you look back you'll see that I was on topic, and correct when I said Curly was looking for his comments by category.
Regarding your namecalling, "very very immature"!
Regarding #4:
Coming from someone as ignorant as you, I'll take that as a compliment! Too bad you tolerate your own ignorance so well...
Hey..Gambit...I have my mute turned off! :) The time my incident happened, I didn't know that it would be automatically turned on when you click on the blog, that's all. I didn't expect to read a sports blog with music on. That's all. I'm not ticked or irritated at all. I was simply stating on this blog that it can be a nuisance if one is not prepared for it. Sometimes, after listening to a stream of music, you can forget to turn off the mute button when going back to blogs because you don't think of a sports blog having a music entertainment section.
Again...I could care less what you or gambitxxx have to say. The music on a SPORTS blog is Bush-League (pun intended)and has no place on a Sports Blog.
Of course FOX won't say anything, if they were truly concerned about screening our blogs then perpetually menstrual people like Nique Dodson would've been banned some time ago.
If anything, I'm sure our little rants serve as nothing more that entertainment fodder for the REAL writers at FOX (who by the way don't bother us with THEIR musical selections).
That's why there is MySpace and Facebook. Not only does your lack of better judgement show by deciding that people who want to read about SPORTS would be interested by what music you like, but it also displays the fact that you don't enough quality writing material to speak of, so you fill the void with asinine musical selections as if you were attempting to garner some comraderie with other bloggers.
That goes for you too gambitxxx and for that matter anyone who has the ludicrous notion of putting music players on a SPORTS blog. What's the matter? Can't get any hits on your MySpace page?
Although I don't really like them, my blog was more tongue-in-cheek than anything else. But since I see that Nique has rounded up the 'attack Curly' posse to justify 'kiddy noise time' on SPORTS blogs, then I will happily expose you and your musical savants with this simple premise.
There are over a million places on the internet where I can choose to listen to music, why would I be interested to listening to music on your SPORTS blog? (Oh I'm not finished...)
Next you knuckleheads will be offering up your latest fashion or pet care tips!
So for all of you who feel the need to combine Willie Randolph with Willie Nelson, just light up a few incense and sing kumbaya to each other, while sharing Billy Ray Cyrus jock strap hugging tales...but most of all..MOST of all...write something worth reading!
I own a recording studio and I will happily charge you a discounted fee of $45 per hour to stop by and live out your American Idol fantasies. Then at least least you can have something ORIGINAL on your blog instead of rehashing tunes from your glory days as a Disco Savant.
My my aren't we sensitive. Nobody was rounded up. You're just crying. The response to your attack on a harmless practice was not choreographed. It was the voice of the majority who chose to respond.
CurlyMo,
I see you have your panties all bunched up your ####! If you want to speak for someone only speak for yourself. If you want to see what the real majority think then see the comments in my response. You don't like the music stay away from my blog and those with music. Either that are you can go to some other site that makes an #### like you happy. Neither you or the stupidity you are typing is speaking for the majority people around here. I get all the hits I need and have some very good friends around here. I said enough and don't even know why I am entertaining you ignorance to begin with.
You say this post was really tounge in cheek but if that was thew case you wouldn't have posted it three seperate times with three different tags. Also you then go on to say the same old #### again after you said that. Sounds contradictory to me.
Also two people who you speak of that work for fox are my very good friends here. So that statement you made just got blown out the water.
It seems to me you aren't getting enough hits to please yourself that you had to blog about this. Then to top it off you posted it three seperate times with three different tags. LMFAO! You might want to think befor you type. Geez your dumber than a box of rocks dude!
