1. The Cubs should tank and/or blow it wildly, letting the Brewers run away with it all.
2. Barry Bonds should hit 756, just to save our fingernails, our patience, and our sanity.
3. Pedro Martinez should not be called up to the major leagues until September 2nd, as to be ineligible to pitch in the playoffs.
4. All ESPN/FOXSports execs who think that the world HAS to watch BOS/NYY whenever they are on should be shot.
5. The Royals should go on a 15 game winning streak, yet fall 2 games under .500, just for kicks and giggles.
6. The Boston Red Sox should put David Ortiz on waivers for 24 hours, and see the Bronx Bombers pay him $250 million for 8 years.
7. Ichiro, Jose Reyes, and Vlad should all go to one team, and then hit 1, 2, 3. And then A-Rod 4th.
8. Dayn Perry should wear a wig. Or at least a toupee.
9. Ben Sheets, and/or Chris Capuano, and/or Jeff Suppan, and/or Yovani Gallardo, and/or Claudio Vargas, and/or Dave Bush should throw a no-hitter/perfect game.
10. Prince Fielder should hit 4 HRs in one game, one being a grand slam, one being a 3-run home run, one being a 2-run home run, and one being a solo shot.
11. The Dodgers and Giants should have an all-out brawl, suspending all active players and coaches for a week with no appeals allowed.
12. The same thing should happen to the Cubs and Cardinals.
13. The same thing should happen to the Red Sox and Yankees.
14. Another ball will hit a speaker in the Metrodome, giving David Ortiz an inside-the-parker.
15. The Brewers should have the best record in the NL.
Mr. Barry Lamar Bonds is closing in on one of the most microscoped event in a very, very long time. The Home Run Record. Let's take a look at what's surrounding this very unique event.
ESPN: The Worldwide Leader in Biases is at it once again. I'm sorry, but when I'm HAPPY the Brewers are playing the Giants and Bonds, something's wrong. Why? I know for certain that the Brewers are pretty much guaranteed somewhere in the first 5 minutes of Sportscenter and every single edition of ESPNEWS. Between this and the OCD-like love of the Yankees-Red Sox on TV every single night they play, I don't know which they like more. '
Mr. Henry "Hank" Aaron: He chose to not attend Mr. Bond's game in which he hits 756. After watching "The Best of Mike and Mike in the Morning", I'm thinking that there's more than the smog around Mr. Bonds. He just doesn't want it broken. He wants to be the All-Time King, although with Mr. Fielder, Mr. Pujols, and Mr. Rodriguez coming, that won't come true.
Mr. Allan H. "Bud" Selig: I don't know what he's planning. Maybe those kayakers in McCovey Cove are in one of those weird cults that, with Allan's help, will kill Barry right as he hits 754. Wouldn't that be something?
Mr. Barry Lamar Bonds: The center of the newest soap opera: "As the Ball Turns." With each pitch, we sit on the edge of our seats to see that ESPN contraption that counts things go up 1 or 2 or 3. He just quietly sucks in all the attention, kind of like a deaf T.O. He knows it's there, but it's not like working out on a driveway. He takes a backseat to his own TV extravaganza.
Now, there's the famous radio call that will come. Here's a good idea for a contest. Who has the best pretend 756 call? Comment with your answer. Here's mine.
"Could it be? Could it be? COULD IT BE? IT IS!!!! IT IS!!! NUMBER 7-5-6!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYES! HENRY, MOVE OVER. BASEBALL HAS A NEW KING, AND MR. BARRY LAMAR BONDS HAS THE CROWN! Folks, I have truly lived to see it all. Good night folks, and never, EVER forget this moment. Oh, I'm getting something now. It's only the first inning. Sorry."
Anyone want to go for a round of "Who Wants to be the Ultimate Blogger?" or, join a possible new episode of "Blogging Around the Horn"! if you do, IM me at Littleguy165 on AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). If you do, say your FOX name. Thank you.
Brewers 3, Marlins 2, 13 innings In one of the wettest games I've ever seen, the Brewers hung in in South Florida for that amazing 24 hour win against the Marlins. After 1 hour and 42 minutes of rain delays, the umpire for the game decided to suspend the game after 10 innings until Wednesday at 6:05 CDT. With another great outing from our bullpen, a combined 3 innings from Greg Aquino, Elmer Dessens, and Fransisco "Coco" Cordero, ultimately getting the save, made sure the Marlins would not win that game. Oh, and it didn't hurt that Rickie Weeks scored the run in the 9th to tie, and the winner in the 13th. Also, For the first time since Derrek Lee did it on June 13th, 2004, Prince Fielder had 7 plate appearances, not AB, and reached safely every time, on 4 hits and 3 walks. This is also the first time in nearly 21 months that the Brewers defeated the Marlins. Season Series-Tied, 1-1
Brewers 5, Marlins 2, 9 innings. In the second half of our "doubleheader", We won yet again, behind a great outing of Dave Bush. going 6 innings, and allowing 1 run, he recieved his first win (1-1). However, he would have never recieved without Rickie Weeks, who scored twice on hits by teammates, and even had a 2-run homerun of his own, which adds to the total of 4 RDI, or Runs Directly Influenced (My Stat), and his 2 RDI last night. Not bad at all. Oh and Coco got the save again (3), dominating his opponents yet again. Also, the Brewers have hit a homerun in every game without extra innings (1-0 in extra innings). Season Series-Leading 2-1.
Now, let's go to commercial!
When you are hurt and can't work, get Aflac! "AFLAC!!"
Thanks, Bill. Here in the NL, we have a logjam in the Central. With the Reds, Cardinals, and Brewers all tied at 5-4, we look to the weekend to sort this out, with the Cardinals hosting the Brewers, and the Reds going to the Windy City to take on the owner-hungry Cubs. Over in the East, we have both the Best and Worst team in the Major Leagues, with Atlanta up at 7-1, and the Alfonso-less Nationals at 1-8. Talk about the full spectrum! And over in the West, we have another dogfight, but with only 1 division leader in the D-Backs, but the Dodgers and Padres are only a half game back.
Thank you Rickie. Now, I turn it over to our Senior AL Correspondent, J.J. Weeks!
Thanks, Bill. Here is the granddaddy of them all, the AL East. Who would have thought that the Blue Jays would be the Divison Leader right now? Not me. Now, we move a little West into the AL Central, where arguably the toughest divison in baseball has the Twins, Indians, White Sox, and Tigers all within a game of each other. Then, we have the Royals. (Psst, Bill, where are the Royals from?) Finally, we have the AL West, where the talent is somewhat average, and another team from LA is doing great. I suggest that we have a tourney involving the two NY teams, the two CHI teams, and the two LA teams in a round robin tourney. Wouldn't that be cool? (Too bad it won't happen.)
We'll be back with our last segment right after this commercial break!
When you're hungry, come downto Jimmy John's for a great sandwich!
And, we're back to BrewersCenter. Before we wrap it up, let's go to Prince Hall with "The Down-Lo on the DL!"
Thank's Bill. Today's patient, is 6'6'', 230 lb. SP for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chris Carpenter! Now, Carpenter was recently added to the DL, with mild arthritis and elbow impingement. While he is only supposed to be on the DL for 15 days, I expect it to be a possible 30-60 day DL trip, with rehab starts, and even possibly surgery. Now, many experts have said that if Chris will be out for an extended period of time, than the Cardinals will not have a shot at making the playoffs. Let's find out!
Sorry for my delayed absence from FOXBlogs (Though the fact that I can't remember the last time Rev wasn't BOTD is a good reason why). Sorry, Buffalo, for not returning your witty comments against my beliefs. And sorry, to everone who thought I was actually going to be right; I tend to screw up a lot. And I really don't need comments emphasizing that more. As I look on my many promises I made last month, they were all ruined. The Major League Top Teams would be way too time consuming, I forgot about the Forty-Eight, so all remaining contestants share the title, and the fact that I'm about a week and a half late on the Brewers is disappointing. Sorry.
For all those in ESPN Fantasy Baseball, a win/lose-lose situation happened. Apparently (Something happened, but I never noticed it.), ESPN had some problems with the Fantasy Baseball stuff, and things got screwed up. Ok...? So, because ESPN has to go all or freaking nothing, every transaction (And I have like 6 between 3 teams) is being nullified, every roster (bench->active) move, and whatever else happened since Opening Day is nullified. Apparently, this is all they could do to fix it. Oh, and all the scores are being changed retroactive to that Opening Day Roster. So, if half your starters were on the DL or didn't play half those days, too bad. Your Week 1 record just got screwed. However, they ARE giving us Free Fantasy Baseball INsider for the rest of the season, so, yeah.
Hey, when you get snowed out and your players are making snow angels in center field, come to your new home away from home, Miller Park!!! Cleveland, having a foot and a half of snow in their stadium, and 4 games with the Mariners being postponed (Till ???) (Also, wouldn't they have thought about this on day 2? Retards.), they decided to move the LA Angels of Anaheim... series to MP. Cleveland won, and their mascot got to ride the slide (I envy him). Oh, the first weekday Sausage Race between 2 AL Teams and either/or the First Sausage Race between 2 AL Teams in almost a deacade had America's Sausage, the Grand Ole Chorizo won. YAY!!!
Quick Note: As of Sunday's game (For the Brewers), 10 of our 31 runs came with the HR. Also, through Monday's game, we have homered in every game. Also through Monday's game, Geoff Jenkins has homered in 3 straight games. And we're only 3-4. I'm not surprised.
The NHL Playoffs (Go Sabres...?) are starting, so their goes ESPNews for the next 2 months. And, soon the NBA Playoffs (Go Suns...?) will start, so there goes SportsCenter. Great.
My 2 "Sense" for the day are that the NL Central is yet again the Division to beat in the NL, because the Braves can't win it all, the Mets may not get to the NLCS, The West is confusing, and the winner of the Central will be primed through the Dogfighting teams will be primed to take on anyone, as long as it isn't San Fransisco (I don't know why.) And, I believe that if you, being the commish of perhaps that best run pro sports league in the world, decide that everyone deserves to be blamed for one's actions, then take some pills, sit down with your the####, and give everyone free NFL Network, no matter how much Time Warner Cable will hate it, because you just made one of the stupidest decisions (I'm going to get something for that) ever, right next not getting the NFL Network on Time Warner Cable (God, I hate that.)
Thank you for tuning into THE Rundown. I'm Cho Rizo, and I wish you all a happy Bucks game.
NFL PreGame shows just got worse. Bill Cowher, unable to leave football, has joined “The NFL Today” on CBS to work as an analyst. Another person who did this is Tiki Barber, who will be an analyst on NBC’s “Football in America” or whatever it is, with Jerome “The Bus” Bettis. The real question is “WHY?????” Why ruin (or in CBS’s and NBC’s case, help) pregame shows? They are the delicate balance between me watching it, and no one watching it (Besides, CBS’s and NBC’s pregame shows suck anyways.)
Barry Bonds signed a contract today; didn’t he already sign? I’m confused. He “held out”, he agreed, ??? I’m really confused now. Grr me.
Florida should have lost, and Ohio State almost lost. But of course, they didn’t, so it means diddly squat. Everybody Hates Wisconsin. But, they DID win.
I’m really starting to like this place for several reasons. One: It’s Not FOX. (I mean COME ON, who still likes Kareem?) Two: More Personalization (Yeah, like you miss FOX’s standard layout with COLORS!!) Three: This is like the AAA of Blogging (Like we know what we’re doing; I like the new ones, but they need a place for AA, and FOX makes sure that they get as little help as possible with the R-MLB ranks) And Finally, Four/Five: No more spamming categories and no more spamming people from FOX/BlogJam. (YAY!!!)
“Covering Wisconsin, one really bad loss at a time.
Welcome to the second edition of The Milwaukee Brewers Chronicle. I had this earlier, but due to time and staff problems, it was discontinued. Now, with my new look, I have it back and better than ever.
Duke's Tourney Bid No Longer a Sure Thing Yoni Cohen
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Blue Devils' fourth consecutive conference loss raises an unpleasant question: Is the program's best days behind it? Between 1988 and 1992, Duke's Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski guided the Blue Devils to five consecutive Final Fours and two national titles. But in the nine seasons that followed, he managed only three Final Fours and one national championship. In the five years since, Krzyzewski's record has been less than overwhelming: one Final Four and no national championships. Most programs would rightly consider even Duke's recent run a tremendous accomplishment. March troubles aside, the Blue Devils have won a higher percentage of their games this decade than any other. But after Sunday's loss at Maryland, Duke finds itself in uncharted territory. No longer is Duke's greatest fear a third consecutive Sweet 16 exit. After falling to 5-6 in the ACC, DeMarcus Nelson, Josh McRoberts, and Jon Scheyer cannot be assured an at-large invitation. Duke's road loss to Maryland sent the Blue Devils on their first four-game league losing streak in more than a decade. With road games at Boston College, Clemson, and North Carolina still on the schedule, it is possible — perhaps even likely — that Duke will finish with a sub-.500 league record. In which case history won't be on their side. In the past eight seasons, 12 ACC clubs have finished 7-9 in conference. Only two have gone dancing. With non-conference wins over Indiana, Georgetown, Gonzaga, and Air Force, Duke is despite the losing streak well positioned for March's main event. But the Blue Devils' margin for error is small and getting smaller. Duke has already lost to both Georgia Tech and Maryland on the road. Lose all three remaining ACC road contests and fall to either the Yellow Jackets or Terrapins at home and Coach K's club would have to win two league tournament games to merit an at-large invitation. That's easier said than done. Much as success begets success, failure breeds failure — especially for a young squad. Duke's fourth consecutive loss should be understood partially as the result of its first three. After several heartbreaking defeats, the Blue Devils were unable to match the Terrapins' first-half energy and fell behind 29-9 in the game's first 11 minutes. For the half, Duke committed 12 turnovers, which led to 17 Maryland points. "They played with amazing energy, especially at the start of the game," said Krzyzewski. "Our team hasn't experienced that level of energy and it knocked us back to where were down by 20 points ... of the four games we've lost, three we had a chance to win. This game, something a little more extraordinary had to happen for us to win after we gave up that huge lead." Instead, Duke was quite ordinary. Thanks to 11 first-half points from Scheyer and 16 in the second from McRoberts, the Blue Devils were able to chip away at Maryland's advantage, eventually cutting the lead to six with just under 10 minutes left in the game. But then the young Blue Devils returned to their careless ways, committing three costly turnovers, one each by Martynas Pocius, Greg Paulus, and Nelson. The Terrapins extended the lead to 10 during this stretch and never looked back. "We would break the press, then we would be in a rush to make the play," said Paulus. "Sometimes we turned it over, other times we should have slowed it down." Indeed, it was the Terrapins' press that proved Duke's undoing. Always offensively challenged, the Blue Devils let Maryland dictate the pace of their offense. As a result, Duke shot poorly from the field, 43.1 percent, and behind the arc, 28.6 percent. "Their press had two residual effects," said Krzyzewski. "They forced turnovers and forced the speed and pace of our offense ... I wouldn't call us a team that has a number of hot hands. The thing that has been difficult throughout the year has been finding offense ... in the games that we lost before this streak, that was the reason we lost, whether it be Marquette or Virginia Tech. We gave up a lot of points off turnovers." It remains to be seen whether Duke, which started three sophomores and two freshmen against Maryland, can bounce back in ACC play. After the game, the Hall of Fame coach readily admitted his young team was more likely to internalize the losses than were some of his more veteran squads. Yet he emphasized the importance of staying positive as the season winds down. "The one thing you have to do whether you're a coach or a player is keep a positive attitude, prepare, fight, and attempt to win the next time," said Krzyzewski "We've been in that position coming off of many, many wins. Now we're in that position coming off of four straight losses. You can't feel sorry for yourself." Then the legendary coach added: "Not everything I do works." If the Blue Devils aren't able to quickly turn their season around, Duke fans and critics alike will soon concur. They'll then ask if Coach K has lost some of his luster. That question may be premature, given that Duke is still a good bet to make the NCAA tournament. It may also be callous, because even in the past five seasons, few coaches have had as much success as Krzyzewski. But it won't be entirely without cause. After several years of disappointing in March, Coach K's club is underperforming in February.
25 Words-Duke has been really sucking it up lately, and they might be in danger of not making March Madness. And they are really, really close.
Part of me thinks that this article came about for three reasons. One, the East Coast Bias clearly is in effect here. Two, it's the ACC. Apparently, I can't go anywhere without anyone saying that the Duke/NC is in an "Off" year, while North Carolina is 4th, YES, 4TH in the polls. Finally, it's because it's Duke, and Yoni Cohen, Jeff Goodman, and the rest of the world knows that Duke is the best ever, because their dynasty will NEVER end.
No Williams Now, Maybe No Mo Next Year
--> TAMPA, Florida (AP) - As the New York Yankees prepared to start spring training without Bernie Williams, Mariano Rivera talked about the possibility of not being with the team a year from now. Rivera will get $10.5 million this season, the option year of a contract paying him $31.5 million over three seasons. He is eligible to become a free agent after the World Series. "If they want to talk, we're willing to listen," Rivera said on Monday following a pre-spring training workout. "But I'm going to bring nothing to the table. I'm just going to focus on what I have to do and see what happens. I have a contract for this year. That's what matters. All I have to do is focus on this season. I just have to worry about being able to help the team as much as I can." Rivera has spent his entire career with the Yankees, just like Williams, helping the team win four World Series titles and six American League pennants. The outfielder said on Friday he was leaning against accepting New York's offer of a minor league contract. "Bernie was one of the big guys on the team," Rivera said. "You have to understand this is a business. I would love to have Bernie back, but who am I to say I want Bernie back? Definitely it's going to be strange not seeing Bernie, but we have to move on and we have to continue." Rivera was sidelined from Aug. 31 to Sept. 22 last year because of a muscle strain near his right elbow. The 37-year-old right-hander finished 5-5 with 34 saves and an 1.80 ERA. On Monday, three days before the start of official workouts, Rivera threw for 15 minutes on flat ground. "I'm not concerned at all," he said. "My body is ready to go. I'm feeling good. I've been throwing for a little bit. I can't wait to go to spring training." In addition to Rivera, catcher Jorge Posada is eligible for free agency after this season. In addition, third baseman Alex Rodriguez can opt out of his record $252 million, 10-year contract after the World Series, giving him leverage to force an extension. "I know that I have one more year, that is this year," Rivera said. "After that year, I don't know what's going to happen. Definitely I want to finish my career here, but if they don't give the respect that I deserve, I have to move on. "The Yankees always give me the respect. When the time comes, if they want me back, they want me back. Otherwise, I'm not going to sit in my house crying. I have to move on." Meanwhile, Japanese pitcher Kei Igawa had his first bullpen session pushed back to Thursday because of rain.
25 Words- Basically, Mariano Rivera is saying that he next year, if the Yankees don't give him an offer, he's done. Rivera's not going to try much.
He's only whining because he want's more money. That's what they do. That's what they'll always do. And plus, he plays for the Yankees. For all we know, he'll squeeze another 30 million dollars out.
Steven Avery Case Basically, I don't know if you want to know anything about this case. And if you do want to know things, I don't know what. That's what reader comments are for. So, for know, I'm putting the websites of the major paper that has the details. http://www.postcrescent.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section ?category=trial

Predictions Tonight's Predictions: Pittsburgh over Louisville Georgetown over West Virginia MY UPSET SPECIAL: Texas over Oklahoma State
My Poll After the huge week in College Basketball, including a new poll in which Duke dropped 9 spots to #26 in the AP Poll, it was time to come out with a new release. For all future releases, they will only be on Monday because it’s SO much easier on me. So, here is the February 12, 2007 Edition of “Chorizo’s College Basketball Top Teams!”
Team AP Rank Points Previous Record Wisconsin 3 1 84 1 24-2 Florida 1 2 83 2 23-2 Ohio State 2 3 69 4 22-3 Memphis 8 4 65 7 21-3 Texas A&M 6 5 63 8 21-3 Nevada 11 6 63 6 22-2 North Carolina 4 7 62 9 22-3 Butler 13 8 62 5 23-3 UCLA 5 9 61 3 21-3 Pittsburgh 7 10 60 10 22-3 Kansas 9 11 59 11 21-4 Washington State 10 12 52 15 21-4 Air Force 16 13 48 13 21-4 Georgetown 14 14 47 NR 18-5 Marquette 12 15 43 12 21-5 Oregon 15 16 35 14 20-5 Oklahoma State 17 17 31 16 19-5 Duke 26 18 19 17 18-7
Reader Comments None today. Oh well.
Editorial Well, I can say that if UCLA never lost, Florida would be first in the poll. Why? That road win over Kentucky. That 8 point game boosted Florida to a tie, which would have been won by Florida.
“Where else can you get a free newspaper that’s shorter than a school newsletter?”
FOREWARNING: THIS TOPIC WILL NOT TALK ABOUT SPORTS, YET IT MAY COME UP.
I come to you all today to talk about what we should have done. People call Africa “The Forgotten Continent,” and for a good reason. How many of you, even if I didn’t say it, could remember 1994. Africa. “Hotel Rwanda.” Genocide.
How many of you remember how we were ignorant to help the Hutus who were being attacked. How many of you remember that only one country really tried to keep peace. How the rest of us just laughed. Honestly, how many? How many of you knew that you could have done something, no matter how big, or even how small, that might have led to more action and more prevention of hundreds of thousands of lives?
How many of you can honestly say that you know that people were killed in Rwanda because of their tribe, even though it was all over the media? How many of you can honestly say that after you said “Oh my God. That’s horrible,” did you even once think of doing something?
I can honestly say I did not. I wish I could have though, because maybe I could have been a hero to others. Maybe I could have touched someone’s life in such a way that can never be repeated again. Maybe I could have been the one to say, Mr. President, we should go into Rwanda and help save those innocent lives. Maybe, I could have been that person. Maybe, I could be their hero.
Many of you are probably wondering right now, why I bring this up at such a time. Well we our killing ourselves from the inside, thinking about Hollywood and all the other places media adores. We keep thinking about all our sports figures, how we idolize them. And then guess what happens? Someone gets killed. Someone gets caught cheating, doing drugs, becoming an alcoholic. Yet, we idolize these people.
I bet you’re more lost now. The point is, we have the opportunity EVERY day to stand up for what is right, what should happen. Yet, we do nothing because “I’m just one person.” “What can I do?” “Who cares about them!” Where the truth is we can do whatever we need to. Just remember, WE were the ones who let the killing go on. WE were the ones who decided to let Africa die. WE were the ones who didn’t stand up for others. How many of you are starting to understand now?
I only ask one thing of you. Do what you can. Whether it’s giving mosquito nets to kids in Africa (Nothing but Nets Campaign), or just giving to a local charity. Please, let’s start doing what we can, and let’s see what will happen.
Ok, so I decided to come back early and screw the whole TV idea. I didn't understand what I was comprehending. (Or was it that I didn't comprehend what I was understanding...) Anyways, I'm just back, and y'all better get used to it.
So, let's get started with the Colts football. Devin "Return Man" Hester had his 5th and 6th Special Teams TDs for a new NFL Record. It's amazing that the Bears can win and Rex Grossman can actually not suck, but this kid can take the show. Also, Peyton Manning the Colt's defense was sort of bad. (Okay, they were HORRIBLE. I mean, they helped me win my Fantasy Football game, which gave me a 4 seed in the Playoffs; I will write about it soon after I finish this.) Um, the Chargers LaDainian Tomlinson won again, with 3 TDs, which broke Shaun Alexander's age-old record of 28 TDs. On a side note, the 49ers lost Packers won. Can you believe that the Brett "Farve" Favre didn't throw an interception? (Neither does my cat's great-grandchild, David Wilkes Harvey (John DAVID Booty, John? WILKES Booth, and Lee HARVEY Oswald).
In basketball, A.I. is getting traded, the Bucks suck, and the new ball has no real balls. MOVING on.
In hockey, I think the Sabres are doing fairly good. Okay, I gave my 10 words. Can I go on now?
Let's see. Baseball. Big news: NL Central is getting beefed up, Brewers go for little Pansy trades, the Red Sox still can't sign that Japanese pitcher guy (Lucky Yankees Brewers), and Bud Selig is still the BLEEP commissioner.
Now let's get to what I'm here for. College sports. First, Football. Ok, people hate the BCS, Michigan and USC hate the Rose Bowl, no one likes Wisconsin, Ohio State really shouldn't have to play in Glendale (Neither should Florida, but then in sounds like I think Florida is going to win), and I might do a semi-bowl preview. Ha. Like that's going to happen.
In college BBall, Wisconsin's doing fairly good. When good teams lose, we move up. Very smart, I may add. We play sucky mid-mid-mid-major Div. III-AAAA teams, good teams lose. GREAT strategy.
Ok, so this is short and not very informative. What do you expect, I just go t back and I'm not sure about even this article? Whatever. Stay tuned, because I'm going to do my Fantasy Football Playoff Preview (FFPP, for those who like RSA, Really Stupid Acronyms) tonight.
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I'm coming back. The bad news is that I don't know when.
See, my blog name (Like the 8th one I've had) "The Cure for the Common Sports Blog" reflects my new technique I'm going to try out. I'm going to write like episodes of "House," where the "illness" is the sports story. I go through, discuss the problems, and all that jazz. (Famous quote thingy) We'll have House, Foreman, Cuddy, Chase, Cameron, Wilson, and, if anyone wants to, I'll let you guest star (I haven't figured how that'll work out yet.)
Unless I get comments asking me to start immediately, I won't start until Jan 2. (First month=Football) For the list of episode dates:
All dates Tuesday (All dates, first runs, and topics subject to change) All dates not during any playoffs are subject to reruns or recaps.
Feb. 14 (College BB (No Women's/CBB) (Sub-plot until Sel. Sunday) Feb. 21 (CBB) Feb. 28 (CBB) Mar. 7 (CBB)

This will be the most confusing sports writing I will ever do. (If I even go through with it.)
Ok. I was going to write a newsletter and then make a link to it in a post. #### FoxSports won't let me. (I DON'T MEAN #### AS DEROGATORY. GOODBYE ESPN.) So, what I'm wondering is if that anyone would be willing to read it if I send it through e-mail. However, if I do it, it would significantly post less than I do now here. (That'll be like never pretty much.)
It would be worth it because that way it's all my posts into one. It's quicker, and you don't have to be on FoxSports. And if you want to (but not saying you should), you could edit it and call it your own.
So, if you want to do this, then comment with your e-mail and you'll get the first issue within a week.
In Vegas, you want to win. You plan on losing. Lucky for you, you start to win. Then, you start to win big. Then, you start raking (literally) in the money. Next, the big, happy free-fall.
You end up winning 1 million dollars, but then waste it all away in an hour. You never win another roulette bet, you #### in up during Craps, you renamed the slot machines "slots to take your money". Your not too happy.
The Twins were like that this year. They sucked at the beginning, no one giving them a snowball's chance in heck. Then, they pull off this unforseen 2nd half, slowly passing all but Kansas City, who only TIED for the worst in Baseball. We didn't see it possible passing Chicago, but, we didn't think the Yankees were going to make the playoffs either until the Boston Massacre 2.
We saw the unthinkable again for like the 4th time in the past month or so, with the Royals sweeping the Tigers to give the Twins the AL Central. Of course, the others were the beer glass almost running out, the absolute #### formerly know as the Windy City, and the Brewers. Ok, not them. It was the Pinstripes killing (and ending them up in 3rd place) Boston Red Sox. (I mean, who'd a thunk the Blue Jays would end up in 2nd?
But, the A's swept the Twins, including two at what is arguably the best home field (or at least WAS) advantage in Baseball. I was really rooting for them. This sucks.
However, all is not lost. We still have the Packers to root for (Quietly, it's sorta unheard of in Wisconsin rite now) and the Bucks, but I really don't care about them. Oh yeah, we have the Badgers. They're sorta good. I hate Michigan.
Well, that's the end of the Road for right now, but you'll have another fork coming up soon. Pick it up, please, it was mine. I was eating sushi, never a big fan of the chopsticks. Oh, yeah, the decision. Please choice the road less traveled...
Every day, there is a big story in sports that about 500 people here end up writing about (-ish). Eventually, we all get sick of it and move on. What we really need is even more variety, more ideas, more people. What we really need is for more to travel The Road.
People want to write about major things not because they want to, but because they can do it easily. Take the T.O. debaccle. I can honestly say I did not write anything about it. But, just because I didn't doesn't mean a whole bunch of others did. What I really want to see is more people writing things that don't stand out as much, things that don't get enough credit.
However, I know that I'm going to be ignored by the general blogging public. Just look at me today. Before I switched to the new idea, I was doing great. Now, it's a big whopping 1 comment. Sure, people may not want to say anything, but there's more than that. They don't like people that are different, that stand out, that take The Road. They do this so they can pick on someone, to make them feel superior. Again, we need that here.
In sports, it's like this too. There's always those select few that are brave (or bad) enough to stand out.
The MLB Road Award: Barry Bonds. Do I need to say anything?
The NFL Road Award: Kyle Boller. He's never played well. He's even worse that Matt Millen.
The NBA Road Award: A.I. With his flashy dress apparel, he was always talked about. Looked what happened: uniformity.
See, people need to stand out. It's what makes them who they are, as well as those who choose to lead or follow the crowd. It's about choices you make, wondering whether to take the extra step. It's about not knowing what's going to be in your future. It's about being someone they don't want you to be. It's about yourself. You have the opportunity. Take every shot.
"why is there two roads? Why not have just one?" "Son, because there are some brave enough to got The Road Less Traveled.
I mentioned things that really keep this place ticking. I'm going to expand on that today.
I mentioned briefly what it means to be a blogger. I see it as deeper though.
Heart-You really need to put your own feelings into what you write, not some thing you wrote because someone else wanted you to. You did it because you wanted to do it.
Style-I have the sponsors, cuziffer has the food and the lowercase. You need your own style, your own way of writing things. Originally, I was a person who took bits and pieces of other people's blogs and made them mine. Then, I turned a new leaf, from the Alter-egoes, to the Brewers Chronicle, to the crazy sayings, and now to the sponsors. It really shows who you are.
Substance-I have recently been posting some very "fluffy" posts, not one that you would look for from this semi-veteran here. You need to keep your reader interested, not bored. If you keep writing about the same thing over and over, eventually people will stop coming to read because they know how it's going to end.
Caring-You need to show some respect around here, because it's right. There's no excuse for fraud, constant bashing, spamming, not commenting anywhere close to wh
