15 Things That Should Happen by October 1st in Basebal
Aug 02, 2007 | 9:59AM | report this

1.  The Cubs should tank and/or blow it wildly, letting the Brewers run away with it all.

2.  Barry Bonds should hit 756, just to save our fingernails, our patience, and our sanity.

3.  Pedro Martinez should not be called up to the major leagues until September 2nd, as to be ineligible to pitch in the playoffs.

4.  All ESPN/FOXSports execs who think that the world HAS to watch BOS/NYY whenever they are on should be shot.

5.  The Royals should go on a 15 game winning streak, yet fall 2 games under .500, just for kicks and giggles.

6.  The Boston Red Sox should put David Ortiz on waivers for 24 hours, and see the Bronx Bombers pay him $250 million for 8 years.

7.  Ichiro, Jose Reyes, and Vlad should all go to one team, and then hit 1, 2, 3.  And then A-Rod 4th.

8.  Dayn Perry should wear a wig.  Or at least a toupee.

9.  Ben Sheets, and/or Chris Capuano, and/or Jeff Suppan, and/or Yovani Gallardo, and/or Claudio Vargas, and/or Dave Bush should throw a no-hitter/perfect game.

10.  Prince Fielder should hit 4 HRs in one game, one being a grand slam, one being a 3-run home run, one being a 2-run home run, and one being a solo shot.

11.  The Dodgers and Giants should have an all-out brawl, suspending all active players and coaches for a week with no appeals allowed.

12.  The same thing should happen to the Cubs and Cardinals.

13.  The same thing should happen to the Red Sox and Yankees.

14.  Another ball will hit a speaker in the Metrodome, giving David Ortiz an inside-the-parker.

15.  The Brewers should have the best record in the NL.

Nice to see that the fans from Wrigley North(Ouch) are getting nervous.
Also, funny that on the day you wish a brawl on the Cubs, reports are that Yost and Estrada went at eachother.
If you could fill me in on what happened i would appreciate it. The details are still unclear here in Chicago.

1. i've been waiting for about 6 weeks for the cubs to come back to earth. it just hasnt happened yet, and i wonder if it really will.
2. i'd rather he passed out at home plate from the "pressure" of tying the record, then have to retire due to "undisclosed circumstances".
3. never liked pedro, so i honestly dont care one way or the other. talk about overpaid and injury prone (something so many think about sheets).
4. how about we just make them watch the royals/d-rays as often as they put the yanks/sox on?
5. i'd rather they take the division, make a ton off revenue, so that their owner knows what it's like to have to share HIS loot, rather than just collecting it from everyone else.
6. houston would snag him first. they need another overweight, defensive liability.
7. bonds should bat 3rd, that way at least 1 guy would ALWAYS be on base when a-rod is up.
8. how about if he dresses in drag?
9. this might sound crazy, but i think bush has the best shot to do it. he'd blow the perfect game by plunking someone though.
10. 10 RBI in one game? you realize how many guys would have to get on base for that to happen, right?
11. how about just jeff kent vs. bonds in a steel cage match?
12. zambrano vs. david eckstein AND adam kennedy.....KENNEDY!
13. schilling vs. clemens
14. or any of the molina brothers. they all run about as fast as a quadraplegic on an escalator.
15. i'd settle for ONE win at this point. we're terrible right now, and i'm not sure they're going to turn it around any time soon.
