Well, here's the inaugural post to the new blog! I hope we all can enjoy it!
Let's start with the draft! I know it's a long way off, but let's get some ideas flowing! Maybe someone important will even listen to us!
Firstly, I'd like to address the first pick! I fell like we have two big needs on this team: a point guard and an inside scoring threat (beyond the level of Drew Gooden!).
The draft is a tricky thing, because you never know who's going to be on the board when you get to pick. I'd love to suppose that the bulls get a Rose or Beasley, but at this point that seems stupid. We're not going to have that opportunity. We could give away Gordon, Deng and Thomas and still not get a top three pick! Or, at least, I'd consider Miami or Seattle crazy for trading it away!
At number nine (currently: let's hope for some lottery magic!), it looks like we're going to have to choose between some pretty nice picks! My two favorites right now are Russell Westbrook and DeAndre Jordan. I like Westbrook as a PG prospect who looks like someone who can have a nice impact soon. I like Jordan as a possible center prospect, which lets us move Noah to PF. There are several other prospects on the board that look nice, but I like these two.
I would love to see the Bulls take a chance on Kieth Brumbaugh with their 2nd round pick. This guy looks like a stud to me, and we could use a little size inside that this guy can provide. Check him out! He averaged 35 points a game in JUCO this year and he should be available at 39! Plus, I'm not real sure a 39th picked PG is much better than a traded one (think Kyle Lowry, Jose Calderon, etc.). At least if we trade for a NBA-tried PG, we'll have a known quantity! And with the 2 guards we have, we ought to be able to get at least one upper level PG in return! Especially throwing in some other little piece!
