Move over IRL... NASCAR left behind in the dust... A new exciting wave of open-wheeled car racing is quickly becoming the number one motor sport in the world. I speak of none other than Formula 1.
Not being plagued by the lack of fans, the ignominies, the tumultuous outbursts and the backstabbing cat fights that have engulfed the likes of Nascar, and especially the protests of having a woman infiltrate their league, Formula 1 has vastly captured the attention of fans worldwide.
The fervent rush that ignites its powerful flame, keeps Formula 1 fan's pulses skyrocketing, adrenaline pulsating through the entire, hypnotic race. Known as the Grand Prix of Racing, Formula 1 is the highest echelon of car racing in the world.
F1 travels all over the world from beautiful countries like Italy, Spain to Australia, and with the likes of several young racecar drivers, there is never a mundane moment on the track. With the likes of Jenson Button, Christian Klien, and rookie Nico Rosberg, there are several hot racers to choose from, but there is only one that stands out among the incandescent crowd, Fernando Alonso. At only 24, Alonso, the 2005 F1 World Champion is still as fast as ever, pushing towards another champion season in victory lane.
Without having to take a second seat next to the ostentatious fame that surrounds Danica Patrick in the IRL, that even overshadowed the limelight of Indy 500 winner Dan Wheldon, Formula 1 is genuine to the real sport of racing, where publicity doesn't outshine the innate talent of a racers capability. So much is lost on Patrick who didn't even win a single race the entire season of her rookie debut, overrated, overplayed, ill of hearing every race commentator mention only her name, IRL has lost its momentum and admiration of many racing fans.
Incredible to watch, Formula 1 encompasses some of the best racecar drivers from all over the world, racing all over the globe. Each race keeps you on the edge of your seats, mesmerized, ... wanting more.
I'm an avid sports fan, Nortre Dame football, "The Fighting Irish."
I'm also an avid racing fan, IRL and especially Formula 1.
I like to travel abroad, and want to write for ESPN, Fox Sports,
and especially Sports Illustrated someday, and be a sports reporter.
There's not enough young blood out there today. I say, get rid of the
old, and in with the new.
