10. Your uniforms are soooo much cooler than the Titans...what’s a Titan anyway?? A flaming “T?” You call that a logo?! Giants have the, ya know...the big “NY” and the “Giants” on there...way, way cooler.
9. You still have the fifth best record in the division...for...now...anyway...
8. Peyton will avenge his brother by making the Titans look silly next week! Ridiculous! That’s good, right?
7. The press will be all over Tony Romo & TO next week and Eli can relax, er, until gametime, that is...Valium, I’m sure they have valium for Eli...and a shrink...yeah.
6. Uh...Dallas has only one more win than you guys! Practically a dead heat. Except for that whole Dallas defeating the undefeated Colts last week, they don't look so tough...uh..yeah...anyway...
5. You had three pretty good quarters. Even John Branch at the NY Times said that Manning had “pizzazz”...until the fourth quarter when the pizzazz went phizzle.
4. Tom Coughlin didn’t pull a Bobby Knight by throwing a clipboard or any sharp things at his players! The complete and utter shock probably helped, but still, no new coach-induced injuries! Woohoo?
3. You’re going to need a tire-iron to peel the sacked quarterbacks from Kiwanuka’s grasp from now on. I bet ya. You’re going to want to live to see that, I bet.
2. If you jump, you’ll miss seeing the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders next week! Oh, wait...or are they only at home games?
1. You don’t have to play against Vince Young next week...and..and...I've got a six-pack! Cold ones!! I'll give you...five of them!! Ok, ok, all six!!
I read the NY Times article about the Giants Sunday morning and thought it was strange to see them writing off the season and Eli Manning. Now they look like prophets.
Funny stuff. I like the idea of family revenge against the Titans. And the uniforms are still among the league best. Who knows, maybe next week the Dallas bubble will burst and everyone will be singing their praises. Maybe they can bring Michael Vick in to talk to thier fans.
Dudski, nothing says team spirit like a Michael Vick pep rally.
My friend is a hardcore Giants fan...he was over for dinner yesterday...I think he wrote them off a few weeks back. Maybe they'll kick it up a notch by next week. Yeah, he didn't buy that line either.
Rough weekend, huh? How many times did Roethlisberger get sacked? Nine times? Ouch. I'm amazed he could still get up and aim the ball in the right direction.
The G-Men were doomed as soon as I drafted Eli Manning to quarterback my fantasy team. Thankfully in round 19 I took Rivers who is now entrenched as my starter.
Would San Diego give back Rivers, Merriman and Kaeding for Eli? No? What if the Giants throw in Kelly Ripa?
Carolyn, vey funny stuff, the Giants blow a three TD lead...That was shock and awe-ful. Course my Iggles got gang-stanged on the Sunday Night game by those Indy Colteroids...

Ed, is it me or is there a pox upon all of the FoxBloggers' teams? I haven't yet read a chipper report here today on the NFL. God, that was an awful sentence. lol.
Someone must be happy somewhere...not here...but somewhere...
Great stuff CT. Of course as a Dallas fan I'd be pointing and laughing at the guy on the ledge, telling him he just got beat by a 3-7 team. But I've been told I'm all heart anyway. What can I say?
It just seems that the one position in all of sports that demands on the field character is the football quarterback. Look at all the quarterbacks that have won Super Bowls over the years. And then look at all the quarterbacks that have won multiple super bowls. One overriding thing you see about the 4 multiple winners I can think of off the top of my head (at least I'm pretty sure, and I'm not going to do an internet search),
Aikman
Montana
Brady
Elway
They play(ed) the game with class and composure. They hovered above the game, performed above the game most of the time.
So when drafting a quarterback I would search for those traits. Eli is way worse than Peyton but you see the lack of composure in them. The bad body language when things aren't going well, the sour face, and blaming people in interviews (ie last year after the loss to Pitt in the playoffs.)
That's what I like about Vince Young. He may be the worst skilled qb in all of football counting backups, but he is going to win because he is a winner. He's not smart, he throws the ball wrong, he makes bad decisions, his footwork stinks, all the stuff you hear. But one thing that will happen is his teammates love him, and they'll play hard for him. It looks like he plays above the game, already! He perfomed Sunday in the NFL in the 4th quarter like he performed in college.
Talent wise the Titans may be the worst in football, but they have 4 wins.
Talent wise the Giants may one of the top 3 or 4 in football, they've lost 4 in a row.
Good topic Carolyn!

Benjamin...that's sweet. I thought you were going to say you'd toss him off the ledge. You really do have heart...
sporthink, hi. Yes, I agree, those QB's are the best! (And I had a crush on all of them...at separate times of course, and not when they were playing the Jets!) And Eli just doesn't have...the stuff. I think some people are natural leaders...he just doesn't have it. Which is not to say he needs it, if someone else on the team can step up and fill that void. But I don't see who on the Giants. The exiting Barber? A shocking Shockey? Who?
Vince Young has some athletic talent there, but honestly, I think he's a bit too much in the ego department. I don't think a QB should be playing it up to the crowd all the time...save the "I'm bad" stuff for the really big moments...or the locker room. I think after a great play, yeah, give a woohoo, high five the receiver, whatever, but don't be "all that" for the crowd. Go think about the next play.
Sports doesn't have to be all numbers and stats and testosterone! I'll share a slightly different angle on sports.
I'm a mom in New York. Go Mets, Jets, Knicks and Rangers.
