Today is one of the greatest days in my life. I was perusing the Dallas Cowboys website and came across an article proclaiming that Jason Witten (tight end) is the number one receiver in the NFC!!! That is so freaking fantastic! He is an amazing player and deserves all of it.
Just when I thought that this couldn't get any better, I come across a portion of the article that reads as follows, "Pause just a moment to let that sink in. First of all, that's 13 more than Owens had this season. That is two more than Randy Moss. That is six more than Tory Holt. That is 12 more than Donald Driver." Two more than the precocious Randy Moss?? Thirteen more than T.O.?? I think I love Witten! And Dallas has him for another 6 years?!? That is only time to grow and improve.
Article also states that he is six catches away from being only the second toght end in NFL history to have 100 catches. Good job Jason Witten. You are an amazing player!
I don't know why you had to look it up in an article, the numbers are on any site with football statistics.
Anyhow, having the most receptions does't make a player the best receiver in the league, let alone the best tight end. I wouldn't take Witten ahead of Antonio Gates or Kellen Winslow Jr.
Last year, Mike Furrey led the league in receptions, now he is back to being a mediocre-at-best player. Witten is a hell of a player, but the best receiver in the NFL, please.
In the top 5 definately. I love him but he does not have the game breaking speed that T.O., Moss, or Chad Johnson posess. Great player though. Go Cowboys!!!
Being a life long Cowboy fan as well as a University of Tennessee fan, it brings me great pride in seeing Jason performing the way he is. From the tiny town of Elizabethton, TN to becoming the premier tight end in the NFL is a tremendous accomplishment.
We have heard a lot about Jason in my part of the country. They named the road that Elizabethton High school in on to Jason Witten Way.
In high school he was primarily a linebacker. He played Tight End also, was wasn't as prolific at that position. He was an All-State linebacker.
He got moved to the Tight End position at UT because they had a shortage at the position and were deep in linebackers. All us UT fans were in mourning when he decided to come out early and not play his senior year.
Happily, he now plays for my favorite NFL team, so I still get to pull for him. Co Cowboys.
I LOVE FOOTBALL but Dallas is my heart! Witten is an amazing player and I have had my eye on him long before he was recognized as the shining star he is. I love sports, beer, and cars (the faster the better)! Sports cars are sexy but give me a muscle car or raised truck any day!! I am not the typical Cali girl. I am not into myself or money. I am into having a fun and drama-free time.
Stop in say hello and let's chat! GO COWBOYS!
