Uruguay was the dirtiest, poorest excuses of a team and individuals I have seen; certainly in this tournament. That was a disgace

Well said Mr Moore. I haven't seen such disgraceful playing in many years. The ref was rubbish as well.

Cheers

I think you guys are overreacting, I have seen and played against worse. I would agree they disgraced themselves in the end though.

And I would have given a red for the altidore foul either.

Apples and oranges mate. An utterly disgraceful performance by Uruguay who did not deserve to win or even tie.

We can at least agree the USA did not play well, whether it was a result of the tactics of the other team or not is what is up for debate.

Before you condemn the Uruguayans ,you need to look back at the worst piece of acting ,by Szetela ,since Vinny Jones moved to Hollywood.

The US did not play well ,rode their luck at times ,but never gave up ,Freddy did not have his usual game ,but still showed leadership qualities ,I thought.
All told ,they did what they had to do to move on ,and you can`t complain about that!
It`s still looking good!

Ringo- I wholeheartedly condemn the Uruguayan side who played like a bunch of hooligans at a Sunday morning kickabout on Hackney Marshes.

Uruguay deserved this loss.

Cheers

What does his acting job have to do with Uraguay's dirty play? It came in the aftermath of a Uraguayan swing at his face that would have RC'ed had the ref seen it, which just lends credence to the claim that Uraguay played dirty.

Because diving and acting is what is wrong with the game regardless of whether he connected or not. I have been headbutted in games, and I never once reacted like a sniper behind the grassy knoll had shot me. your a man, don't be a wimp, that is how I see it.
