Here is the profile of the man who will be in the middle, Ravshan Irmatov of Uzbekistan. He has been in charge of two games in the tournament and both finished 3-0. His first was Mexico versus Gambia and the other, Chile versus Congo.
Over the years Uruguay has gained a reputation for producing some pretty brutal sides – brutal in the sense of dirty. However, check out this statistics page and it looks like this Uruguay side has been the #### cats of the tournament so far.
Even the red card given to goalkeeper Mauro Goicoechea was for a rugby tackle on a Zambian forward after he had missed what should have been a straight forward clearance. Only Costa Rica committed fewer fouls (29) in the first three games of the tournament than Uruguay (33).
On the other hand only Congo (59) has committed more fouls than the USA (57).
Anyone following the Brazil Uraguay game. It's now going to extra time at 2-2. It actually turned out to pretty entertaining. Really don't care who wins though it would be nice to see a Mexico Vs. Uraguay final instead of the Brazil vs. Argetina final that we have seen so many time already.
hey bobby..... folks i bet on Friday bobby is gonna skip his analysis of the match and go straight to forlans' penalty.... u've seen more aggressive pass backs haven't u bobby? FORLAN IS THE MAN BOBBY LOVES TO HATE
what the #### is happening to djnima, l thought it was booby correcting the magic frase, Bobby send a feew t-shirts with your face to world soccer shop and hollywood stardom will be around the corner eating , dining and strippin g for photo shoot with posh, beck and the cruises
jaydaggoberto - Thank you for posting before I did. I don't hate Forlan it's just that he was so awful during his spell at Manchester United that he became a running joke - mainly because Michelle loved him. The best line I have read was about Forlan's time at Old Trafford. Supposedly a journalist told one of the United directors that Forlan had been a very good junior tennis player at one time. The comeback from the director was "oh, that will explain why he puts so many over the net then."

What is your pick for Spain vs Brazil? I believe this is a difficult game to predict. The speed and flair of Brazil will give Spain trouble; the direct play and power of Spain may give Brazil difficulty. I simply hope this is not a repeat of World Cup '86 in Mexico when Spain had a legitimate goal disallowed (ball hit crossbar, bounded down BEHIND the goal line, and bounced out). Brazil 2, Spain 1. If you have commented on this on FSR I apologize - I've been working long and hard and haven't cought the show in several days. Thanks.
Espana - I have a piece on the Spain - Brazil game on the linked article. I picked Brazil to win 3-2 mainly because I can't believe that Brazil can go home without producing at least one good 90 minute display.
Bobby.....
Has the FA made a mistake in not giving West Ham a more severe punishment? I believe they have, but are unwilling to correct their mistake. I strongly believe that they should have imposed a 15 point deduction rather than a cash deduction, as a point deduction would hurt much more. Thus, sending a stronger message to individuals that might consider similar courses of action.
On the other hand, do the Blades really deserve to be reinstated? I think it would be fair to let them at least return to the EPL. However, i am a bit unsympathetic towards them, as they carelessly dropped points in the 2nd to last match and whats worst, they lost at home on the very last day (and yes, i know they were robbed, but they should have done better).
What are your thoughts?

Icemonkey and Bobby - sure u are right about the punishment westham should have gotten according to the rules and regulations, but i personally think the teams that remained in the prem are the ones that belong there, all the teams involved in the relegation scrap had their destiny in their own hands and quite simply weren't good enough, it would be sad if the players and the fans of Westham were punished due to the dealings of westham hierarchy.... like i said u r right about what should have happened according to the rules but the teams that went down, deserved to the players and coach kept their team in the league solely on what they did in training and also what they did on the pitch, and deserve to still be in the prem, I'm not a Westham fan, but who would u rather watch next season them or Sheffield untd? what do you think bobby?
IceMonkey - I'm sorry but I try to avoid speculation about what players would fit where especially during the transfer window. As I have said before only a very small percentage of suppossed transfers ever happen and I could spend all summer writing aboout things that probably won't happen. With so much on field action this summer I am enjoying what is actually happening as oppossed to what might happen or what some UK tabloids decide to create.
As for the West Ham situation I've given my opinion on it numerous times on the blog and on the FSR. West Ham should have had points deducted and they should be in the Championship this coming season.

Jaydaggoberto.....
Personally, i am not really interested in seeing either team, so that issue is null and void. However, i do believe in the principles of "right and wrong;" with that said, Sheffield should be in the EPL and West Ham should be in the championship.
Moreover, whether Sheffield belongs with the current crop is neither here nor there, for if they are found wanting, they will go down either way. What is important is that the FA do the right thing and punish West Ham for their crime.
Icemonkey- i should also point out that the decision is that of the appointed panel and they obviously were spineless!!! either way i really don't care.
