Brazil vs. Ghana - half time
Jun 27, 2006 | 8:55AM | report this

Brazil could not have asked for a better start. They get an early lead and Ronaldo removed a potential-#### off his back as he becomes the most prolific scorer in the history of the World Cup Finals.

It was a great transition from Emerson and Lucio - knocking the ball around at the back - to Kaka to Ronaldo who beats a poor attempt at an offside trap.

The best stuff from Brazil has come from Kaka. Although 2-0 up, Brazil has not convinced me that they are the best team at this tournament - yet.

Ghana finished the half strongly and the second Brazilian goal (and Brazil's 200th WCF goal) came against the run of play. Mensah did everything right with his header from a late corner except putting it wide of Dida.

Seema a strange way to play the world champs by the ghanians, that offside trap against the skill of brasil italy germany seems like your living on a cliff. Give it to em though they are taking it to the brasilians and deserve better than 0-2. Dida has saved the bacon.

2-0, c'mon.. more like Brazil offsides twice and the refs look the other way! And everyone in the world could see Adriano offsides not once but twice on the 2nd goal and again, the biased officiating in Brazil's favor has shown up throughout every game! Hey Bobby, what if Brazil play Portugal and will anyone be left standing upright? lol

Kudos to Ghana for not backing down and they are unlucky to be down 2-0. They could easily be level 1-1 but the breaks are going the Brazilians way so far. Adriano was just offside on the 2nd goal and Dida made a wonderful reactionary saveon the header by Mensah. Ghana have to keep their cool and not continue to rack up cards or this match will be completely over.

What does that mean, "against the run of play"?

mum, against the run of play is when one team has most of the possession and attack and then the other team scores, its considered against the run of play

Ghana has played well and should feel very proud of the way they played. I'm still waiting for the "best team" in the world to show up. Right now I like Germany or perhaps Argentina's chances over Brazil to win the whole thing.

A dive by the Ghanian? Hard to see - but looked more like he tripped over himself. What good does a red card do. Again the refereeing is ruining the game.

How strong must brasil be to have not shown up, be 4-0 with a 10-1 goal differential, wow! Still time to peak with the quarters, semis and finals on the horizon, and a lot to build on.

Where has Ronaldinho been? Has he shown up for the games yet? He's the 2 time world player of the year...this is the world cup, where the worlds best are supposed to show that they are the worlds best.

Brazil is so overrated! Bad refs and theatics to win, shame on you! Spain or France will easily defeat Brazil and sorry, the B.S. play acting, falling down won't work against the likes of Spain and France.

Yeah, Brazil really could'nt have asked for a better start since Ghana showed up with a 3-toed sloth with down syndrome to play goalie. Put me out there after I whacked down a 12 pack and I bet I could've scored on Ghana.

well, well, well. This is what happened when you have a team that's five times champion, best player ( Ronaldinho ) an attacker( Ronaldo)that has scored more goals than Pele or Miller in world cups, a team that has won 10 games straight in world cups without losing one, a record beater and people just don't get enough. What else makes Brazil better than it already is, what can we ask for? Even if Brazil scored a game 10-0 there will always be not enough. Please....
