Who'll win it all next year?
Apr 04, 2007 | 10:02AM | report this

So we've given Florida one full day to celebrate the second of their back-to-back NCAA championships ... now on to next season!

Granted, we won't know exactly how next year will look until all the underclassmen make their final decisions on whether to stay in school or give the NBA a shot, but that won't stop Jeff Goodman from taking a deep breath, making an educated guess as to who's coming back and rolling out his top 25 teams for 2007-08.

But seeing how much fun you guys had disagreeing with Jeff's tourney picks, we thought we'd let you take issue with his very, very preseason power rankings.

Who's going to be the heir to Florida's reign next season?

Making those tricky picks
Mar 14, 2007 | 3:39PM | report this

Our resident college hoops expert Jeff Goodman has spoken, and the Final Four will be Florida, UCLA, North Carolina and Ohio State.

Once in Atlanta, the Gators will down the Buckeyes to become the first repeat champions since Duke pulled it off in 1991-92.

Of course, that may be open to debate. And in fact, that's exactly what we're looking for.

Let us know what you think of Mr. Goodman's picks. And while you're at it, let us know who's going to Atlanta in your tourney pool … and who'll be cutting the nets down when it's all been said and done.

Who's your pick for Player of the Year?
Feb 14, 2007 | 10:42AM | report this

Kevin Durant, Greg Oden and Alando Tucker get more pub, but Jeff Goodman strongly believes Boston College's Jared Dudley deserves college hoops player of the year honors.

But enough of what Jeff thinks ... what do you think?

Could one of the two freshmen (Durant or Oden) become the first newbie to win POY honors? Should one of the six players who played in last year's title game that make Jeff's top 20 list get the nod?

Who gets your vote?

Who's No. 1 now?
Jan 07, 2007 | 7:53AM | report this

UCLA's loss at Oregon means there will be a new No. 1 team in college basketball this week. And if the AP voters hold true to their oh-so-predictable form, it'll likely be No. 2 North Carolina -- which crushed Florida State on Sunday -- moving up one rung and taking over the top spot.

But as much fun as automatically elevating the No. 2 team in the polls without actually considering who the top team in the nation is ... we'd rather hear what you think. Who is the best team in college basketball right now?

Will the AP voters be justified in bumping the Tar Heels up a notch? Or should the defending champs from Florida be ranked No. 1? Do the youngsters from Ohio State get your vote of approval or is a two-point loss at one of the nation's toughest venues not enough in your estimation to knock the Bruins from their lofty perch?

Biggest stories of 2006
Dec 18, 2006 | 5:01AM | report this

2006 is about to be nothing more than a memory. And thanks to some of the athletic exploits of the last 12 months ... what a memory it will be.

There was triumph (Vince Young at the Rose Bowl and Jerome Bettis on Super Sunday) and tragedy (Barbaro breaking down). And in some cases -- like Tiger losing his father, but winning two more majors -- there was both.

And of course, there was controversy, whether it was the head butt heard round the world or the wide-ranging impact of steroids.

Ultimately, we're leaving the choice up to you. What is your top story of the year?
