Most of the hatred for #24 comes from the fact that a lot of people loved to pull for #3 Dale Sr. And #24 not only learned a lot from #3, he used it against him to steal some wins from him. Some people believe if not for Gordon, Dale Sr. would have won more championships than he did. Having been to some of the races, I see 80% of the fans still booooing #24.
