No pics, no cutsie countdown this blog entry kiddies - This week I'm fighting mad!! Robbie Gordon has been picked on enough through out his career, and this latest instance is just another in a long line of incidents that has proved NASCAR has got it in for Robbie.
First things first, I am NOT a Robbie Gordon fan, but this latest incident is just absolutely flabbergasting. 100 points? For a front bumper cover, that was sent to him by his manufacturer??? Michael Waltrip got 100 deducted from him for using ROCKET FUEL!!!!! Now given the fact that it was it had to been crazy for Robbie, switching manufactures right in the middle of speedweeks , it is an error that could be completely understood! But 100 points NASCAR? Come on!!!!! I could definately see 50, and a fine, and, His Crew Cheif gone for 6 races? Insult to injury if you ask me!!!! This is just NASCAR singling out Robbie, and lets face it boys and girls, if your not a corporate #### kisser and suck up to the corporate would be's of NASCAR your gonna be put to the woodshed everytime by the NASCAR's little pit bulls!!!
This on top of this point, did anyone on FOX's coverage or anywhere else for that matter even notice Robbie put a top 10 on the board at Daytona? Did anyone even call out Robbie for running a great race? NO!! He didn't even get interviewed after the race!!! We the fans should cry out to NASCAR!!! NOW!!!! I've written my letter to the NASCAR would be's (By the way if you would like to do also the address is Public Relations PO Box 2875 Daytona Beach, FL 32120-2875) I would emplore you to do the same!! Robbie is a good guy, great to his fans, I met Robbie when I lived in Mooresville, he came out to the resturant where I worked at and signed everything put in front of him and was courteous and gracious and praised every fan that showed up that day and supported him! For us old school NASCAR fans, we need to rally around Robbie! He is the last of the Owner/Drivers left, and if he is forced out by NASCAR, which is what they are trying to do, we wont have anything old school left! Back to basics my #### NASCAR!!!!! LEAVE ROBBIE ALONE!!!!!!!
Drop a comment, let me know if im off base, or if I'm right on on this one!!!
Robby was not the only driver/team/crew chief that was fined this weekend. A total of 10 teams received a comeuppance from NASCAR.
I have two questions for you.
1) Was it an illegal bumper? If your answer is yes, then you don't have an argument. Any other info - where he finished - is just a try at bringing grey area to a black and white situation.
2) Why? Why is NASCAR after Robby Gordon? Alright, other than the fact he's a headcase.
Robbie Gordon is a repeat offender of rule bending/ignoring. I think NASCAR wanted to send a very clear and unmistakable message to Robbie and his team. NASCAR is not gonna put up with Robbie's #### this year.
If the guy was using an illegal part...regardless of where he got it from...then he broke the rules. When you do that, you get slapped around.
Sure, who you are has a lot to do with how NASCAR will treat you. No, it's not really fair. Never has been. But as far as I can tell, it's always been that way. The drivers know that too. If Robbie didn't fully understand how much NASCAR was going to be gunning for him after his little stunt in Canada last year(I thought it was hilarious!), then he is a blind fool. NASCAR, I'm sure, didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did.
Robbie is going to pay now, for all his past "transgressions" in NASCAR's eyes. Fair or not is immaterial. Life ain't fair.

I am not a fan of Robby's but it does seem that he does get treated pretty badly by NASCAR. Yeah, if you've done the crime do the time but the penalty seems very severe to me.
I have heard many say that he is one of the really good guys as far as the fans are concerned. Always willing to go the extra mile for them. I was chuffed that he managed a top 10 finish at Daytona and I hope the year improves for him and he does well. I'd hate to see him 'pushed' outta the sport.
B77.....Are you sure you're NOT a Robbie Gordon fan?
I hope NASCAR is just making up for the non penalty they gave him last year in Canada for what he did to Marcos Ambrose. He should have been suspended for those immature actions then.
I can't believe he only got double secret probation. I figured a rest of the season suspension for sure. And I think that's why Robbie Gordon has a big bullseye on his back now. Nothing else makes sense. Otherwise NASCAR has lost their collective mind with that penalty.
Of course, I'm not sticking up for what Robbie did to Marcus. It was total immature ####. But it was funny total immature ####.
B77- I think NASCAR is coming down hard on any tech modifications to the COT period. They may be lightening up on driver's expressiveness but they are clearly making up for it in the tech inspection.
Robby is, IMO, still paying for my favorite moment of last years NASCAR season: the Dueling Victory Donuts in Montreal.
While the penalties for this most recent transgression seem far too severe, Robby's a rebel and likely wears the bullseye on his back with pride.
He ALWAYS runs a great race (well, nearly always). He's right up there with Kurt Busch IMO as the best at gaining positions during green flag racing - even though he does it with less-than-superior equipment.
Last year Jr. was penalized for an unapproved part on his COT. Initially he decided to appeal the penalty. After consideration Jr and DEI decided to drop it and take their lumps. His reason was they were concerned that things could actually get worse than the original penalty and that NASCAR was actually considering making him qualify on time for the remaining races. It's strong arm tactics like this that Robby Gordon isn't afraid to fight. NASCAR has a superiority complex and think "putTing the fear of god" into the drivers is the way to control them. What an arrogant egotistical attitude.
To bad there are no more racers in the France family.
No guys I'm really Not a Robbie Gordon Fan, bottom line is he got the wrong spoiler from his manufacturer why isnt NASCAR punishing Dodge? It is just curiousity that drives me, but when other drivers do the same thing(s) They never get took to the "Shed" like Robbie does!
Big Daddy Im with ya I think that the Canada incident just spurs NASCAR in sticking the screws to Robbie, Now if that would have been anyone else in Canada, the old "Rubbin is Racing" line would have came out!!
