They say a picture is worth a thousand words. . . . What does this one say to you? The bottom line is the prodical son has fired the shot heard round the world. All winter long the question burning the NASCAR world has been, How will Jr fare with HMS? Well tonight I think you got your answer!
Jr has answered all his critics and naysayers in only his FIRST RACE! And the thing that has impressed me the most is how it was an absolute team effort. Jr gave credit to his new teammate Jimmy Johnson for helping him win the race. And that is why Hendrick is the dominate team in NASCAR today, cause, lets face it, you can have all the horsepower, the best handling cars, all the sponsor dollars you want, and maybe a really good and talented driver, but in todays NASCAR world, it don't mean anything unless the whole team can look past themselves and do what is right for the collective whole. Hendrick drivers are the best today because no matter how big or popular the driver, Gordon, Johnson, Mears, and Earnhardt Jr, work together as a collective unit to accomplish the same goal. While other teams are tearing themselves and other drivers apart in the garage area, these guys are working together to WIN!!! And thats why it will be no surprise, at the end of the year it will be a HMS driver holding the Sprint Cup Trophy! Congratulations go to not just Earnhardt Jr for winning the shootout, but to the whole HMS team, for proving once again that teams win championships and individuals sink!
It was only a 70 lap race. What else was Jimmie supposed to do? He didn't have the winning car. Jimmie knew that he wasn't as fast as Jr. So of course he was gonna help him. But guaranteed. Had Jimmie had a car that was equal to Jr's. He would have done what he could to get that win.
Jimmie has shown in the past that he is in it for himself. So how could anyone give Jimmie any credit? Jr raced his heart out. And of course he is gonna say the right things. Didnt he say the right things last season even though he knew that Theresa was in the wrong?
With all due respect, Jr hasn't proven anything to me until he actually contends for the cup. Now i know he is the most popular and all, but what has he done in the big leagues? He's won some races, but he has yet to seriously contend for the cup. Till he proves me wrong, he's just another guy on a long list of nothing to race for at the end of the year.
Well for all you going i want to see how hes gonna run here there everywhere..... Point here is Jr. WON.... Lets see last year 0-wins in 39 tries if you include shootout, gatorades, and all star races.... This season hmmmm 1 Race 1 win.... Id say hes smileing here folks no matter what you pesimistic people say, geezzz give the guy a pat on his back he just won..... Oh by the way i know he wasn't driveing his Amp car but....TERESA THIS AMPS FOR YOU GIRL...... hehehe had to say it..All im saying folks is give the guy a pat on the back he did win....
Junior didnt win alone. Jimmy pushed him. But the biggest thankyou he needs to give is to the #24 of Jeff. When Jeff backed off behind the #22 of Blaney and not push him around his Hendrick teamate. I dont think he is ready to help a Yoda to a victory. At least not past a TEAMATE. I just hope Junior knows who to thank. The whole team worked well together. The shot heard should have a line under it TEAMWORK works..
point taken, noah...he couldn't have won without the help he got, but that just shows that HMS are a good team and work well together I guess.
not too sure about the "round the world" thing though....no mention at all on the NZ radiosport website about it but they never do NASCAR stuff anyway, lol

Junior's finished in the top-five in the Cup standings THREE times (in four years). In 2004, he was leading the points with five to go, including getting docked 25 points because of his infamous Talladega Victory Lane-interview, and he went into the last race with a better mathematical chance to win the championship than Jeff Gordon had last year.
To say Junior's never "seriously contend(ed) for the Cup" is preposterous.
Thanks Jay Jay - Dale Jr. Has proved over the years he could contend! As Evidence would provide going 2 for 2 at Daytona, has proved one thing if not nothing else - He WILL CONTEND THIS YEAR
