Okay, Fox Sports now i'm really hacked off!!! Schrub the next intimidator? WHAT??? What in the heck are you paying your columnists with. . . DRUGS??? They have to be on drugs, because one cannot be that delusional sober, OKAY! Fact of the matter is, no one is now or ever will be Dale Earnhardt, PERIOD! And why is that? Why are columnists and television analyst always serching for "The next"? All day long its Lebron James is the next Michael Jordon or Kobe is the next or Dale Jr is the Next Sr. Schrub is the Next Sr, or is he the next Jeff Gordon. . . . WOULD YOU STOP IT ALREADY! How about this Schrub drives, acts, looks like Kyle Busch, Dale Jr is Dale Jr, Thats all they are, and guess what? THATS ALL THEY'RE GONNA BE! Why do they need to be the next anything?
2. Instead of paying these bonehead columnists to write crappy articles, how about hiring some IT guys to stop these idiots with these bogus dating sites off of our blog pages! HOW ABOUT THAT!!! I'm so sick and tired of having my conversations interupted by these flaming idiots talking about how cute someone is and they are on their site with their dog and trees and living wealthy lives and dating and WHATEVER THE HELL THEIR TALKING ABOUT, CAN YOU STOP THAT PLEASE AND GIVE ME SOME SANITY!!! Thank you fox sports. . . IDIOTS!!!
After some extended time away I'm back with a short track temper and ready to spew some free floating hostility to spew on some random topics.
1. Can all you back woods red-neck traditionalists just accept the fact that Toyota is here and winning races now! Oh the excuses you bring, 1. Umm there not made in America, Umm there more American the Chevrolet (Mexico) and Ford (Canada), Toyota (Bodys made in Elkhardt Indiana, Engines made in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, So now what? 2. Umm If it wasn't for the COT they wouldn't be any good. Umm check the record they were pretty horrble with the regular car and the COT last year, So now what? 3. Umm Americans need to drive American Cars. Umm not withstanding point #1, Toyotas just replaced GM as the most car sold manufacturer in the world, and if its good enough to grace your driveway (Odds are you probably have one) you should be good enough to root for it on the track!
2. Can we please get someone, anyone to sponsor the #28 please! After parading the Roush Busch. . . . I meant Nationwide sponsors the last couple of weeks (Yeah I'm still a traditionalists in some matters, sue me!!) now they will have a Ford dealership that sponsored a car in the 60's on the side of the car this weekend. I just wanna say this, its not like Travis Kvapil is that horrble folks, he has 2 top 10 finishes this year, top 20 in the points, What do you want for nothing? Big name sponsors aren't even making the races this year!!! So someone put your logo on this team's car and let them go racin'
3. So I was wrong, the open-wheelers are crappin out quicker than the guy in Vegas that broke a mirror, lost his 4 leaf clover, and walked under a ladder while stepping on a black cat. Hey it was worth a shot, but these guys, I guess, should have spent a while longer in Busch. . . . I meant the Nationwide series, but so should a lot of other drivers (Kurt Busch), SO NOW WHAT?
In Celebration of my new theme on my blog, I'm hoping for a great season by my beloved Reds! So were barely treading .500, it could be worse.. . . We could be Tiger fans. After climbing out of my depressed and dissapointed stupor, that was the Tarheel loss to Kansas, I am clinging on to hope as Spring is upon us. So here is the SO FAR SO GOODfile for the NASCAR SEASON.
1. Dale Earnhardt Jr. - So let the beatings begin Jr lovers and haters. But the numbers dont lie, Jr. is having a fantastic season thus far. People would be quick to point out he doesn't have a points race victory thus far, but hey neither does the other Hendrick drivers! But 4th place in the standings thus far is great as opposed to the cloud of expried engines and broken wheels bouncing off the car . . . Isn't it!!
2. Roush/Fenway Racing - Just when you thought it was safe to bury the old blue oval, like a bad rash here comes "The Cat In The Hat" once again. Roush/Fenway drivers are having a fantastic season thus far - Headed by Cousin' Carl's 3 victories thus far (minus the missing or loose oil cover) Roush's teams performance rivals that of Hendricks from a year ago.
3. Kyle Busch - What can you say about the Scrub this year, except Exceptional. Kyle is a bonafide contender to win any race this year, and has brought the 18 from mid card status back to championship contender in just one season!
4. Richard Childress Racing - Trivia question everyone. . . Who has the top 2 cars in the standings thus far? That would be Richard Childress Racing! Is it just me or has this feat become one of the most overlooked stories in NASCAR at this point. Like a F-117A, Childress cars have quietly and mythodically marched their way to the top of the standing without anyone hardly noticing.
5. Toyota - What a difference does a year make! From barely making races to being in contention to win every week (Thanks Joe Gibbs), Toyota has made a quantum leap to the top of the NASCAR standings week by week (Thanks Joe Gibbs). 3 Toyota drivers are in the top 10 in the point standings as opposed by a year ago they couldnt even get in the top 35 in owners points (Thanks Joe Gibbs). . . Oh did I mention a special thanks to Joe Gibbs?
No pics, no cutsie countdown this blog entry kiddies - This week I'm fighting mad!! Robbie Gordon has been picked on enough through out his career, and this latest instance is just another in a long line of incidents that has proved NASCAR has got it in for Robbie.
First things first, I am NOT a Robbie Gordon fan, but this latest incident is just absolutely flabbergasting. 100 points? For a front bumper cover, that was sent to him by his manufacturer??? Michael Waltrip got 100 deducted from him for using ROCKET FUEL!!!!! Now given the fact that it was it had to been crazy for Robbie, switching manufactures right in the middle of speedweeks , it is an error that could be completely understood! But 100 points NASCAR? Come on!!!!! I could definately see 50, and a fine, and, His Crew Cheif gone for 6 races? Insult to injury if you ask me!!!! This is just NASCAR singling out Robbie, and lets face it boys and girls, if your not a corporate BLEEP kisser and BLEEP up to the corporate would be's of NASCAR your gonna be put to the woodshed everytime by the NASCAR's little pit bulls!!!
This on top of this point, did anyone on FOX's coverage or anywhere else for that matter even notice Robbie put a top 10 on the board at Daytona? Did anyone even call out Robbie for running a great race? NO!! He didn't even get interviewed after the race!!! We the fans should cry out to NASCAR!!! NOW!!!! I've written my letter to the NASCAR would be's (By the way if you would like to do also the address is Public Relations PO Box 2875 Daytona Beach, FL 32120-2875) I would emplore you to do the same!! Robbie is a good guy, great to his fans, I met Robbie when I lived in Mooresville, he came out to the resturant where I worked at and signed everything put in front of him and was courteous and gracious and praised every fan that showed up that day and supported him! For us old school NASCAR fans, we need to rally around Robbie! He is the last of the Owner/Drivers left, and if he is forced out by NASCAR, which is what they are trying to do, we wont have anything old school left! Back to basics my BLEEP NASCAR!!!!! LEAVE ROBBIE ALONE!!!!!!!
Drop a comment, let me know if im off base, or if I'm right on on this one!!!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. . . . What does this one say to you? The bottom line is the prodical son has fired the shot heard round the world. All winter long the question burning the NASCAR world has been, How will Jr fare with HMS? Well tonight I think you got your answer!
Jr has answered all his critics and naysayers in only his FIRST RACE! And the thing that has impressed me the most is how it was an absolute team effort. Jr gave credit to his new teammate Jimmy Johnson for helping him win the race. And that is why Hendrick is the dominate team in NASCAR today, cause, lets face it, you can have all the horsepower, the best handling cars, all the sponsor dollars you want, and maybe a really good and talented driver, but in todays NASCAR world, it don't mean anything unless the whole team can look past themselves and do what is right for the collective whole. Hendrick drivers are the best today because no matter how big or popular the driver, Gordon, Johnson, Mears, and Earnhardt Jr, work together as a collective unit to accomplish the same goal. While other teams are tearing themselves and other drivers apart in the garage area, these guys are working together to WIN!!! And thats why it will be no surprise, at the end of the year it will be a HMS driver holding the Sprint Cup Trophy! Congratulations go to not just Earnhardt Jr for winning the shootout, but to the whole HMS team, for proving once again that teams win championships and individuals sink!
Hey gang its been awhile but I'm ready to drop some more countdown goodness, on this edition of the Top 10.
This time we are going to look at the Top 10 stories for NASCAR in 2008, so LETS GO!!!
10. Just How Well Will The Open Wheelers Do? - The open-wheel invasion will be in full effect this year with Patrick Carpentier, Dario Franchitti, Jacques Villeneuve, and Sam Hornish all competing for ROTY honors this year in NASCAR, toss in a dash of Marcus Ambrose, and NASCAR will be full of international flavor this year.
9. Who will bust out fistacuffs this year? - Unfortunately, this is a valid question. Given the fact that driver brawling has overshadowed the entire races in which they brawled, NASCAR drivers have become in need of Anger Management! Its only a matter of time and driver error and fists will fly once more. The only question remains is who will it be, and can we get a ring side seat?
8. Will Television Coverage Improve This Year with Jarrett! - We Can only hope so!!!
7. Who Is Gonna be the dark horse contender? - Last year Clint Bowyer stepped out of the shadows and into the light to become the dark horse contender last year! This year a few drivers come to mind! Insert driver here!!!
6. The Future of the Developmental Drivers - The crop of the Develpmental drivers and their development will be a overlooked issue for most, but as for me I can see the next batch of superstars for NASCAR are gonna be great! Led by Joe Gibbs Racings Stud Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick's Cale Gale, and Roush Racings Erik Darnell, these names you probably never heard of, but you should get to know them! From Left To Right 1) Joey Logano 2)Cale Gale 3) Erik Darnell
5. How Well Will DEI Do Without Jr.? - No Budweiser on tap, and No Jr. to be found, DEI will carry a whole new look heading in to 08. Mark Martin, and Aric Almirola will share the driver duties in the 8 with US ARMY on the car (Still Looks Weird To Me). But given the fact that Marin Truex Jr. made the chase last year, DEI may not crash and burn like some would suggest
4. Can The Ford "Supergroup" Challenge Hendricks Dominance? - Now that Roush has teamed up with Doug Yates team in Concord (Sort Of), can they combine together and challenge the Chevrolet and Hendrick dominace of the sport. They have the talent for sure, led by former champion Matt Kenseth, and Carl Edwards, they could land the knock out punch for Hendrick this year. . . If they don't punch each other out first. . . SEE ABOVE!
3. Can Toyota Become Competitive With JGR as the teams leader? - Toyota showed flashes of greatness last year, with Mikey's shocking Talledega poll, and Dave Blaney's strong second half performance. But now you add Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin, and the schrub to the mix and Toyota boasts a heck of a lineup to compete this year!
2. Will The COT Ever Endear Itself To The Fans? - So it Looks like a 1978 Chevrolet Nova! But for better or worse its evident that the COT now stands for Car Of Today!
SEE THE SIMULARITY NOW????
. . .and now for #1
1. How Will Jr. Fare With HMS? - Gone with the Bud, and Jr. Nation decked out in green and blue! Jr. has joined the "Darkside" with Hendrick Motorsports. Now given the fact that his team was the former #25 and not very competive, Jr Nation hopes that the past will stay there, and Jr. not only returns to the chase, but becomes a favorite for the Sprint Cup Championship!
So there it is gang! Comment me and let me know if I missed something, or if you disagree with the order
