MeanDovine..Hey my old friend!...You were one of the first to post when I began. Very nice to see you. Did you give that "poster" or Let It Be album cover a good look? But then you don't know what I look like. Go broadjam.com/dyckns and there's a pic there then look at the album cover again. I've been away and didn't realise how much I missed it here 'til some posts were left at an article I wrote waay back about The King & His Court. Thanks MD....Really appreciate it.
lisa4usc..why yes! I remember you too! I told ya I liked Berkley.I Like your new avatar. Thank you lisa4usc for the welcome back. I've been here but not writing...few things on etc, etc. GREAT Talledga trip! Just freakin great! I was reading southerncindi's posts and tearing up man. Dam well almost spilled over the the eyelid too. Although I admit I did have to take in hand a paper towel to ..uh..wipe my eyes coz they were dusty.
It said it was a free download. I did that one then it said Buy to make more fun of your friends! lowly peon's! So of course I'm gonna buy it. It's pretty easy. Site is Faceonbody.com if you're interestedin "making fun of your relative's and friends"..lol
el super clasico..You owe me for this one. BUT..Fogettaboudit...In Victorian times the word "dickens" was used as a euphamisim for the Devil. Like "That hurts like hell" would be "That hurts like the dickens". There ye be gents and ladies. Just a hey-penny fer this 'ere ole soldier who best his self at a time long past in the Kings name but to be wasted and cast to sea....Aye..Aye
BDyckns .....I'd like to think that B Dyckns was the inspiration and voice behind many of The Beatles greatest hits. But I don't know whether or not he'd have been part and parcel to their years when they were in somewhat of a perpetual haze and daze from smkoin' all of that pot.
But then again one can never tell. Anyway I'd like to think that he was something of an inspiration to 'em somehow !
What's up and how've you been doin' ? Not seen much of you around the forum as such. But then again it could've been me as I've been busy with work and other things.
I've a new post up under this guise anout the UFC bout over the weekend between Chuck Liddell and Quinton Jackson. That bout was far more exciting than most of the boxing bouts that've been shown either on PPV or HBO for much of this season. Suffice to say that Liddell had his #### handed to him on a plate as he was knocked out by Jackson within 2 minutes of the start of the bout. It was allout none stop action from the start.
Check out my piece on it if you're interested as it's titled Stay Down Or Get Mowed Down. It's written under the rampantfanatic guise. Chimin' out !
Thanks for stopping & commenting rampanyfantastic. I had to look up UFC...and dicscovered I've stopped on a few ,what I thought were boxing matches, to see the guy bring a kick up and quickly went on. Personally, not my kinda music. When I thought boxing was making a real comeback was back in the late 90s on Showtime. The Flyweight, Lighweight and Bantam weight matches were GREAT! And , what I thought would be stars (Prince somethinorother), soon disappeared. There was some real-#### boxing there for awhile. No holding on to each other and resting. Real boxing and Excellent boxing. Oh...I came on to that"special" scene a few years after the Beatles. Gave Sgt Pepper a whole new line of enjoyment. Also, got into the movies, as ya can see....hehehe..BUT of course Al beat me out of the role. Not physically...He's much better than I am.
Bdyckns ...... We've all got contributions to make within this forum. And it shouldn't matter who does what in terms of a piece being written. Just as long as it's enjoyed by those who get the chance to read it. It's the anniversary I believe of the release of The Beatles eponymous LP of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band. And it's clearly one of the best records of its kind ever made. It's been so influential that nobody can deny it deserves its place in history. Just a pity that there hasn't been a band around to rival their success over the years. My own favorite groups however have been U2 and The Police.
But then again my own musical tastes are so eclectic. They cover from rap, r&b, Motown, reggae to jazz and hip-hop. Can't really get anymore mixed up than that.
Just waiting to see if LeBron and the Cavaliers can close out the series against the Pistons before meeting up with the Spurs in the finals. Chimin' out !
