BC Has The Toughest ACC Schedule = BETTER BEAT DIVISION FOES!!
Jul 31, 2007 | 6:04AM | report this

BC has GT, Miami and annual rival VT (3).

The 3 Beasts of the Coastal.

The home opener is where Matt Ryan has to make a 14 game statement and send a message to the Team that he is the man, the leader, wants to win the Heisman and BC needs to play full throttle on every down and take no prisoners and keep the pedal to the metal until the final gun and kill all foes early.

Start to Finish. Intensity, focus and nastiness!

Wake Forest has Virginia, Duke and North Carolina, (0), or the "alleged" bottom 3. -- BC plays WF GAME 1.

If Wake Forest beats BC at home, [4 out of 5], then with the 3 weaker Coastal teams --or the opposite of BC--, that would not be a favorable Atlantic scenario.

Here are the "doubler" conference games and the number of Big 3 Coastal beasts they play and what game we get our division rivals:

NCSU--Has Virginia, Miami and North Carolina (1) --GAME 2
Clemson-- Has VT, Duke and GT. (2) --GAME 11
FSU --Has Duke, Miami, and VT (2) -- GAME 9
Maryland --Has Virginia, GT and North Carolina (1) GAME 10

The good news is FSU and Clemson have 2, but anyway you look at it, BC has to win the 5 division games since one loss and the 3 Coastal Beasts, BC would be hard pressed to get into the ACC Championship Game with a few division losses, but hey, going 14-0 is The Big Easy!

No doubt about it, 3 straight ACC tough tilts to start, and BC will have to be ready from the get go.

WF is Grobe coached, and their kids play hard, smart and tough. Grobe is the best Head Coach in the ACC and a Top 5 Leader in the USA with what he has accomplished at WF.

NCSU will be sky high too and of course full of "discipline", and GT in Atlanta will be brutal, and the early rankings have GT ahead of BC.

32 days to get your business in order and start concentrating on football.

Guess what, they are all tough, -----even Army, BG, ND and even UMASS will be pumped with kids with chips on their shoulder.

KICK IT OFF!

OT:

No whining from the easy cream cheese schedule and out of conference creampuffs of West Virginia who thinks that having a 1 big game schedule of Louisville at home and 12-0 gets them a Championship slot. WVU should be favorites in every game and the Big East is still overrated. Maybe the Mountain men get a nice Friedgen Turtle bite in the butt at Maryland on 09-13.

Louisville ain't much better with Utah. Maybe the Wildcats finally claw Louisville in Lexington, and we don't have to listen to these 2 weak scheduled whiners the whole year.

"Toughest" Schedule In Nation = Boston College? Maybe Not?
Oct 26, 2006 | 3:01PM | report this

But.........What is big Charley Weiswhining yapping about?

This is not Strength of Schedule, which is the true indicator, but in either case Notre Dame is a LOSER!

This is just a won-loss indicator, but it does provide one slice of the pie.

I prefer doing it my way below.

Boston College should be amongst the first one-loss teams ranked!

Lamar Thomas will be appointed Chancellor of the University of Miami Tomorrow!
Oct 16, 2006 | 2:39PM | report this

Lamar Thomas will be appointed Chancellor of the University of Miami tomorrow.

That would be the Dade County Jail Campus!

Make no mistake, Coker, and Athletic Director Dee are HISTORY.

1--When Miami was admitted into the ACC, it was told by the ACC to make sure the Butch Davis sewer act and clean-up remained in tact , no matter what!

The ACC, full well knowing that Miami recruits players that fit the gansta thug juvenile deliquent profile, and the alumni former players that come back and permeate that disgusting and unsportsmanlike image and persona, wanted an ACC class act at Miami.

Good luck with that!

2--Coker is also feeling heat from Randy Shannon's inside crew since Randy is black and the leading National Contender for all the other Head Coaching jobs and why Miami, the home of the greatest black athletes in college football, has had no black Head Coach?

With Coker having back to back bad seasons, the hot seat is now an electric chair and the only way Coker saves his #### is a table run to a win in the BCS, and not even that might save him.

Many believe Shannon is tunneling and behind a lot of Coker's troubles and no way Larry can fire him. That is the same deal as in Corporate America and big jobs in Sports.

Shannon, a guy I begged for 3 years ago to replace BC's Head Coach, has become a Swamp Snake.

3--Last year's tunnel incident with LSU; stomping on the Cardinal at Louisville and then getting stomped; the riot at the OB Saturday, Coker should be toast.

Miami is a program out of control and the ACC bigwigs have noticed and worse, so has America.

The NCAA and Myles "Worthless Generic" Brand is too busy chasing Indian nicknames and has to worry about the Fighting Sioux owning the NCAA after they win that lawsuit.

4--Lamar Thomas was hired by Comcast with Dee's approval.

Lamar FELONY(s) arrest record of strangling his "fiancee" twice, once in front of a child, brandishing a gun twice, and almost being committed to a mental institution must have looked great on his job application at Miami for gangta thug.

THESE ARE FELONIES, not speeding tickets kids!

• Arrested and jailed for aggravated battery for attacking his pregnant fiancee with a deadly weapon.

• Arrested for violating probation.

• Detained for brandishing a handgun and threatening suicide, prompting authorities to check him in to a mental institution.

• Did jail time for again violating probation related to the battery charges, when he was arrested for choking his fiancee. His six-month old son was present at the scene.

JOB AP at Comcast: If you have ever been arrested, please explain...... well Lamar, must have had a 245 page attachment.

Lamar will be gone by midnight, or the new Chancellor. I say Chancellor!

5--Saturday was "Join a Team, not a Gang!" at the OB with 700 high at risk kids and Metro Dade anti-gang squad police.

What does the kid do now?

Go home and say, "Hey, Mom, I can do both at the "U"?"

--Ergo, a national embarrassment and state of Florida disgrace for the "U!"

6---The problem has been brewing for years and Butch was only a partial clean-up.

Miami has an institutional GANGSTA mentality, and it is a disgrace.

BUT THE PROBLEM, IS DONNA SHALALA 100%

7---Coker was brilliant is his press conference Sunday, saving his job before the School took action. Perfect damage control and a career saving move. Suspend 13 and do it before the NFL kickoff on Sunday. If Miami doesn't win the ACC Title game and the BCS, Coker will be gone for sure, and again, maybe done anyway?

8---My prediction is that College Football America has had enough of the U thugs and U ganstas at the "U" and further actions will be taken.

To me, I do not see how Randy Shannon escapes the purge, because he has been there, but....where is Little Donna?

9--- Just today, Donna Shalala apologized and just like a Clinton flunky appointee loser, nobody will be fired and yadda-yadda.

I still say Coker and Dee will be gone by the end of this season. Not even the President of the U gets it. These guys need to be gone NOW.

Merriweather, a co-captain and stomping people and kicking them in the face, should be in jail not suspended. Just wait, before Christmas these guys will be toast.

10---If Dee was smart he would fire Coker now and half his staff and maybe save his job?

Psst.... He ain't that smart.

My 2 Strategic Planning Gifts to Boston College Coaches for 2006!
Jul 31, 2006 | 8:02AM | report this

NEW RULE CHANGES!

1--Change: When Team B is awarded a first down, the clock will be stopped and will start on the ready for play signal.

2--Now, the clock will start once the ball is spotted on change of possessions, rather than when the ball is snapped.

Quote:
Strategic Planning Gift #1:
Quote: BC should never punt unless up by more than 11 points when it reaches the opposition's 43 yard line or less, and the BC down is at less or equal to than 4th and 6.

PS--I might even eschew the situation in big games and go for it??? Risky but if the passing game is going????

Why, you ask the Humble Genius Coach 74?

1--You take you chances with Ryan and maybe ice the game, or give the team a huge momentum boost and rest the defense.

2--BC's Special Teams are always poorly coached and it seems our punter always drills one 20 yards out of the end zone from that distance!

3--The risk of gaining a first down is a good one here risking for 23 yards of field position and a 25% shot at pooching the ball inside the 10 yard line.

Quote:
Strategic Planning Gift #2:
Do not ever punt the ball away down by 1 score with 6 minutes to go or less, and the ball over your own 40 yard line.

Do not ever punt the ball away down by 2 scores with 12 minutes to go or less, and the ball over your own 40 yard line.

Why, you ask the Humble Genius Coach 74?

Well I got out my trusty excel spreadsheet and figured with the 25 second clock and the new rules, that if a team is running the ball to kill the clock the average play, tackle, getting up and re-spotting the ball takes 13-16 seconds if you check some of the boxscores.

First Down, the clock is running and the QB snaps it at 23 seconds, and if they stay in-bounds and makes a first down by running and passing in-bounds, you have 4 more downs to go again, and if you are stopped on your next series, you have burned with the other team saving its 3 timeouts, in 7 plays, 266-287 seconds or as Sister Superior would tell you use up = 4:30 -- 4:50 minutes with the new rules and only 1 first down in burning the clock!

YIKESOMANIA!

You get 2 first downs, you have burned almost 6 1/2 to 7 minutes, with no stoppages, or you are forced to burn your remaining timeouts!

Example:

Last year worst moment in BC Football history when #### Blunders punted down 2 scores with 8:35 to go versus UNC.

With these new rules, BC might never had seen the ball again if you check the boxscore, or been forced to burn its remaining TO's!

LA MORAL: Humble Genius Coach 74 always has a moral:

I am sure our OC, Dana "Nemo" Bible, and Head Coach TOblunders0-9, the math department, calculus PHD's, and the statistics department did the same exact Coach 74 spreadsheet and risk calculator thinking over the long summer on Daniel Island!

You will see the new "HENSQUAT" with laminated #### scenario sheets with field position, timeouts and exactly what strategy to use, sticking out of his backside, you can all breath a sigh of relief!

If not, please forward my consultant fee check to the usual address.

Can't say you were notified or warned!

In this pass happy college game, counting on the BC defense, and BC defensive Coordinator Frank Spaziani, or  Luigi "I do not have a nickel or dime package" and "I rarely blitz" as being the attacking aggressor and stopping the opposition when BC is behind, is a very, very risky strategy.
