Aaron Rodgers, best QB in NFC North
Jun 20, 2008 | 9:55AM | report this

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one Man to dissolve the bands which have connected Him with another, and to assume His place at the pinnacle of the history of a sport, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle Him, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that we should declare the state of successorship and competitive environment that He has left behind.  Let it be known, after the retirement of The Great One, the Green Bay Packers still have the best QB in the NFC North.  This is in no way an endorsement of Aaron Rodgers - a still unproven star - to be the equal or near equal to The Great One in any way, but rather an indictment of competing QB’s in the NFC North on the basis of incompetence, moronicism, and a general behavioral adoption of blatant jackassery.  To prove this, let this list be submitted to a candid world.

Tavaris Jackson “T-Jack” – Yet another example of the failed philosophy of the “running quarterback”.  He tries to run when he should throw, and throws interceptions when he should run.  If we dismembered him, sewed his legs to his shoulders and his arms to his thighs, he would try to wear his #### for a hat.

Griese, Grossman, Orton “The Trashtown Triplets” – All three are sad examples of players who experienced a fair amount of success in college, but became infected with the Chicago QB disease when they signed a contract with a mismanaged and poorly coached organization.  How a team with so many high draft picks can consistently find the biggest busts of the year is likely a question that has no answer.  Keep up the good work McCaskey.

John Kitna – Although Kitna will be the toughest competition for Rodgers, his history in the league surely places him in the category of flop.  Any quarterback that can spend time under the wise tutelage of Mike Holmgren – who’s ability to create a star quarterback is unquestioned – and somehow turnout so bad he needs to be cut, then dredged up by the Bengals organization and fail to perform with the talent of Ocho Cinco and TJ Houshyomamainthehottubwith, and then go to the Lions and destroy the careers of highly drafted WR’s, can easily be dismissed from consideration of the top QB of any conference at any level.

Go you Packers, go.
