With most teams completing around 53 of their 82 games, we are about two-thirds of the way though the NBA 06-07 regular season.
Here is a look of some midseason awards that I would like to hand out. Each award is then followed by a small blurb.
Thanks for stopping by, and if I missed any (I'm sure I did), please let me know.
Most Valuable Player - Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant . . (Three-way MVP race, in that order.)
Least Valuable Player - Raef LaFrentz . . (Embarrassed to say I actually drafted this guy in a fantasy league.)
Most Improved - David Lee, Kevin Martin . . (Both having a career year, and could someday be All-Stars.)
Biggest Dissapointment - Brad Miller, Andrei Kirilenko . . (Both having career lows and patches of DNPs.)
Most Underrated Player - Caron Butler . . (20 pts, 7.7 reb, 3.8 ast, 2.1 stl, .3 blk, 2.9 to, 47% FG, 87% FT)
Most Overrated Player - Shaquille O'Neal . . (On the decline, many DNPs, and 1,622,446 All-Star votes.)
Best Sixth Man - Ben Gordon, Leandro Barbosa . . (Noone comes off the bench better than these two.)
Entertainer of the Year - Gilbert Arenas . . (One-handed three pointers and a trampoline dunk in vegas.)
Biggest Fantasy Stud - Kevin Garnett . . (22 pts, 12.6 reb, 4.4 ast, 1.3 stl, 1.7 blk, 2.6 to, 48% fg, 84% ft)
Coach of the Year - Jerry Sloan . . (The "is it finally his turn" mind set has faded, now there is reasoning.)
Executive of the Year - Bryan Colangelo . . (Raptor's .537 win percent comes from the management.)
