Jeff Gordon Controversy – Let me explain it to you.
Apr 27, 2007 | 11:22AM | report this

1. Gordon made his pit stop and got out of pit lane before the leader (#20) got passed him.

2. This put him on the tail end of the lead lap cars.

3. When those cars made their pit stops, Gordon stayed out and claimed the lead.

It was a cleverly executed move and was an advantage of Gordon getting to pick his pit placement due to winning the pole. Gordon bashers claim NASCAR gave him the win. Rules are rules. Gordon's crew pulled it off flawlessly and Gordon earned the win.

Gordon got lucky because of Jacque Debris. Caution for debris that noone could find including the TV commentators. Tony had to slooow down cause the field was frozen. They didnt pull nething off "flawlessly". Nascar helped them out. EV1 knows it. WAKE UP ####Y...I MEAN SPIDEY.

Hey 20fan, Nascar didn't do anything to help out anyone at that time. That caution was caused by a wreck, not debris. When Gordon pitted a crash happened almost immediately after he entered pit row. That was why he was able to stay on the lead lap. People can't race back to the line anymore and you may feel that is dumb but it's the same for everyone. In this case, if anything it was just a lucky break for Gordon.

Why can't people just get over it? Gordon passed Stewart cleanly when it mattered most. He had the better car that day when crunch time hit. Sheesh...let it go already and get ready for Talladega so everyone's panties can get in a bunch over restrictor plates.

I am not a hater. I DO know how to think objectively. you both can't open your eyes to see what's happening to this sport. spidey don't have a clue due to his inexperience at watching NA$CAR for only "a few years". this wasn't intended to be as you say, "a drive-by". open your eyes chux. listen to the rest of the fanbase. even #20 haters are agreeing with Tony.

20fan4life -

LOL.

We just explained to you the rules on why Gordon started first on the restart.

You continue to ignore the rules.

Need I say more?

Jeff Gordon is more focused than ever on winning races and clinching that title at the end of the year. So I don't understand why everyone is whining over a win at Phoenix. Gordon earned that win respectively, he had a top 5 car all day and continued to get better as the day went on. If you really paid attention to the restarts when Stewart was out in front of Gordon Stewart never pulled away. Gordon was just better than stewart and stayed glued to his bumper. Just like the old saying says "RUBBIN'S RACIN'" that was just a dramatic finish by Gordon and i give him and stewart alot of credit. Gordon may not be the next Richard Petty or Darrell Waltrip but to be at that age and tie the great Dale Earnhardt is the greatest feat ever. SO ALL YOU GORDON HATING FANS LISTEN UP....GORDON IS THE BEST OF THE BEST AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU ALL SHOULDN'T REALLY BE WATCHING THIS SPORT!
