Ok, we've made it to the Chase. And bummer, my driver didn't make it. Oh well, we'll get 'em next year.
So who will be the next Nextel cup champion? I think that is a good question. We've got some really good drivers who will be battling it out. So, is Hendrick gonna pull out a 1-2 finish or will Tony come in and spoil their plans?
That is what I'll be counting on. I wanna see Tony to take another one for Chevy. (Sucks he will be driving a Toyota next year. ) I don't think Gordon, Johnson, or Harvick are gonna roll over and let him have it though. Then there are the Kurt Busch's, Jeff Burton's, Matt Kenseth's and Carl Edwards that are always consistant who may try to steal the the show. Then we've got the Martin Truex's and Clint Bowyer's that seem to have snuck in.
And you've got to factor in Dale Jr, Ryan Newman, Kyle Busch and all of the other drivers who are gonna want to take home a few wins in 2008. And they have not much to lose and everything to gain at this point! Will we see a Chase dominated field?
I just hope that the Chase isn't won or lost by luck. I'm hoping for some clean driving, good engines, and hard racing. You've got three of the best drivers in NASCAR (Gordon, Johnson, and Stewart) who are going to give us a great show.
But,,,..... My pick will be Tony Stewart. He's coming on strong and he has that winning attitude I love. He will make you beat him, he won't beat himself. Plus, the guy always comes on strong in the second half of the season. It's like a bear coming out of hibernation... better not get in his way!
This years chase is going to be fun to watch but I think you will be in for a few surprises as far as the chase drivers.
I am afraid it is going to be another round of playing it safe like 2006 for most but my idea is the drivers from 8th to 12th will be the ones NOT playing it safe. I look to see them take chances to get to the front.
Granted the drivers that didn't make it into the chase is going to try and spoil their party with some hard charging for a win but I don't have a clue who will be the one or ones doing it yet..
Can you imagine if Derick Cope can qualify and stays in the race to pick up a win? That would be a long shot of astronomical or rather comedian proportions.
I think Harvick's got a little something for the other Chasers. I look for him to be at or near the front tomorrow, and have a solid top 10 finish, perhaps top 5.
Watch Stewert next week, I think he has a chip on his shoulder and he will have to prove something- I do think he got an ear full after this weekend and will have to prove it with a great finish. He is capable
I am a 36 year old woman from a very small town in Montana. I am a huge Nascar fan. People ask who my driver is and I say Earnhardt, whether Sr. or Jr. I love em both. I have so much interest in the races and drivers. My car has #8 and #3 decals all over it. So does my husbands. Our sons play sports all school year - Football, Basketball, and Tennis. Our family loves most all sports. If you are interested in what I do for a living- I am a "Certified Memorialist" and a graphic designer. In easy terms- I make headstones and also signs. Building signs, car decals and signage, cabinet signs etc. etc. Being a graphic designer and working with vinyl you can imagine what our vehicles look like!! Anyway, Everyone have a good day. lol
