Hurray for Jr! I can't beleive that I am so eager for a season to be over and a new one to begin. I love watching races but I am very interested in how Jr will do with Hendrick. With an owner so loyal to his sport I can only imagine that Jr. will be bringing home cups. And I am wondering what Theresa is thinking! Do you think she knows that she just cut off her nose to spite her face? I will not buy anything that will support DEI anymore. I love Dale Sr. but DEI isn't about him anymore. I feel she has completely killed off the spirit of Dale Sr. in the company by letting his son go. No matter who she puts in Jr.'s place in DEI they will never be Jr. If anything this whole situation has made me a more loyal Jr. fan. In some strange way I feel by supporting Jr. we are supporting Sr.'s legacy and memory. And is it just me or does it really bug you when everyone tries to compare the driving of Sr. and Jr.?????? Both of them are winners, but do (and did) it in different ways with different personalities. No one will ever be the Intimidator and never will so why do we keep trying to compare them?????? Anyway, I hope Jr. makes the Chase, gets his car going for the cup, and proves to Theresa that she made a huge mistake letting Jr. go.
Doesn't it seem wierd that when Jr. decides to leave ol' whats his name (isn't it Martin Truex Jr.??) is running better? I guess I can't contain my disappointment that Jr. won't be part of his dad's company. I do beleive that Hendrick will do well by him, but I can't help but wish he could have had a future with what used to be his dad's company.
No matter how good someone is at a skill or sport, a change of scenery can do wonders. He's 12th now, a mere 700+ points behind (he who won't be named but is in need of a haircut). I think DEI will benefit as much as Jr. as DEI also has something to prove that they have the equipment to compete. Of course this is chevy's year (again).
On a side note, congrats to Ford for getting the second non-chevy win of the season.
Rick Hendricks will regret dumping Kyle Busch. Kyle was in top 10 last year and is in the Chase again this year. He can drive circles around Casey Mears who normally races for 25th with Kyle Petty.
I hope that Kyle Busch signs with DEI and continues to finish ahead of JR in 8 out of 10 races in 2008 and 2009. JR and Hendricks are going to find that the problem has not been JR's car or crew. He does not have his dad's or Kyle Busch's talent.
I think Hendrick Motorsports will do wonders for Dale Jr. He doesn't have to worry about being the man; he can just go out and race. 8Jr8fan, I can see why you're enthused about this season ending and next season beginning. The one concern will be the new crew he will have. Will they be able to develop chemistry quickly and get off to a good start? If Jr. has a new crew chief, how quickly will they adapt to each other's styles? Just a couple of questions to ponder.
Rick may wish he had Kyle back at some point. But not now. Kyle is just an ####. And it takes one to know one. :)
Jack Roush doesn't even want to talk to him after the Kurt experience.
But he will make someone an excellent driver. DEI, Childress and Ginn are the leading candidates for his services. He too wants to stay with Chevrolet.
I am a 36 year old woman from a very small town in Montana. I am a huge Nascar fan. People ask who my driver is and I say Earnhardt, whether Sr. or Jr. I love em both. I have so much interest in the races and drivers. My car has #8 and #3 decals all over it. So does my husbands. Our sons play sports all school year - Football, Basketball, and Tennis. Our family loves most all sports. If you are interested in what I do for a living- I am a "Certified Memorialist" and a graphic designer. In easy terms- I make headstones and also signs. Building signs, car decals and signage, cabinet signs etc. etc. Being a graphic designer and working with vinyl you can imagine what our vehicles look like!! Anyway, Everyone have a good day. lol
