Man am I ready for some football. The Cowboys are coming into the pre-season looking strong all around. this is going to be a short post but i plan on blogging again tomorrow night about some off-season happenings with the cowboys and just on a quick note............how about the trade giving us a round 1 pick in next years draft? FREAKIN AWSOME,RIGHT?!?!?!?!?! I think Brady Quinn is the real deal, but even Aikman took a couple years to get the ship rolling in the right direction. I think when it's all said and done, we have a top 5 draft pick and hopefully a top 5 running back in next years draft or possibly a speedy wide receiver to go with Terrell.
What do we really need to accomplish in the off-season and the pre-season? well, consistency with Romo I think is priority #1. It appears that Romo has taken the off-season seriously. he entered camp this year looking better than anytime in his career and for good reason........produce numbers, wins and playoffs..........get a nice contract to go with it! For those who dog Jerry Jones (and i have been 1 in the past to hound him on things he's said and done) , Jerry has put together a core of players that could rival the big 3 of the 90's. Now , before I blog my thoughts and tell you the big 3 i'm talking about, keep in mind the big picture.......Julius Jones is not the answer at running back! He has done mediocre, just like his brother Thomas did for the bears for years before stepping it up last year ( and the injury bug runs in the family..........Thomas laid up already with a bum leg) , I think Marion Barber is the long term answer for us. So here goes my Big 3 for this decade of cowboys teams to make the run for the superbowl:
1. Tony Romo
2. Terrell Owens
3. Jason Witten
Now, I know, there are so many big name players on this team, but these are the weapons we have, the defense is rockin this year, and most cowboys fans could make a case Demarcus Ware's name should be on there, or Marcus Spears , Anthony Newman, Anthony Henry , Julius Jones who i stated above I feel shouldn't be considered, Big Daddy Flozel Adams or even Bobby Carpenter. Whoever the case may be, opinions are like #### holes, everyone's got one and mine's stated above!
I know, i'm being abit negative about the results........actually here's the best thing out of that game I got:

I thought it was sweet how Romo got the NFC back into the game, considering all the talk leading up to the pro bowl about how Romo shouldn't be in it, blah blah blah. Well, my opinion, yes he deserved to be there. I loved when Bledsoe came to the Cowboys, living thru all the QUINCY CARTER GAMES and ANTHONY WRIGHT GAMES, and the threat of DREW HENSON GAMES............nuff said? So I say YES to some TONY ROMO GAMES! Now, i;m not dogging Bledsoe, I think there are some teams out there that he could start for, I think there are a whole lotta teams he could back-up for and extend his career for a long time, the Cowboys fit neither of those categories. Parcells is gone, so goes Bledsoe! Truth be known, if Parcells hadn't came to the Cowboys, Bledsoe wouldn't have either. Hey Bledsoe........"Thanks for the memories, thanks for the wins, but it's time to put you on the shelf with the other Dallas QB's that's came and gone and leave it at that.............you look god on my shelf next to the starting line-up of BERNIE KOSAR!"

I've recieved some feedback from recent posts, all are positive remarks about Romo and the Cowboys, I appreciate that,. Nice to know there are 1 or 2 people reading what I write :)
How many people out there in cowboy land, know how it feels to lose money on a bet to the one teams fan you dispise the most, but love the most as well.......make sense?
My uncle Ted, Love him to death, been like a 2nd father to me, is a die hard Eagles fan, I guess he would rival me for being the biggest fan of the team he loves. I consider myself the biggest cowboys fan there is, he does the same for the Eagles.
This season was a terrible season for the Cowboys in terms of division wins, the Eagles skunked us, the Redskins split with us and the Giants split with us as well, but t lose 2 to the eagles, well I got ery drunk twice last season.............worst part of it...............getting that phone call after the game from my Uncle Ted rubbing it in........lol
A little history on this inner family rivalry. When I was born, I pissed a stream of silver pee all over everybody, my uncle told me right then he knew I was destined to be a Cowboys fan....now I gotta give him credit, he's tried over the years to convert me.......buying me eagles socks...........mailing me eagles blankets...........leaving eagles shirts that were a size 2 x and he wears a size large...........KINDA OBVIOUS TO ME TOO PEOPLE! BUT..........heehee, never fear, cowboys pride is here, I got him back everytime he came down to visit in the summertime, hiding cowboys stuff in his luggage and vehicle and he wouldn't find it until he was already home or so far down the highway he couldn't do anything about it except laugh.........but the best one, I hid about 60 cowboys football cards all in his vehicle, he said they would fall out when he was at work on break, lying around his vehicle and his co-workers wanted to always know where those damn cowboys cards were coming from...............this was during the superbowl years of the 90's so things were great then........atleast for me.
But I guess things weren't too bad back then for him, hell he had Cunningham at the helm fr the eagles...................BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !........ok back to my story.
anyways, the first game they lost to the eagles (refresher bledsoe game 38-24), I turned my phone off and decided to delete any and all incoming voice mails from his area code.....lol
well, worked for awhile, finally had to listen to him rant and rave.....2nd game............VERY PAINFULL PEOPLE (refresher ROMO game 23-7........thought sure we were gonna kick their ####, I was riding the ROMO high for this game!), but anyways decided before this game I would place alittle wager, say $5 .............WORST FREAKIN $5 I LOST ALL YEAR!
SO I ASK YOU, WHICH IS WORSE, LOSING THE GAME TO THE EAGLES, OR LOSING THE GAME TO THE EAGLES, THE FAMILY EAGLES FAN, AND A SMALL HELPING OF $5 TO GO ALONG WITH IT??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

OK, my wife is punching me in the head right now to be positive in my post, I just hate it when my team does memorable stuff in the playoffs that suck, it has been riding on my mind ever since ROMO fumbled the snap! It would've been differant if it were raining, snowing,sleeting, but NOTHING to blame it on except ROMO and his season long plague of FUMBLE-ITIS.
Well, now that i've got that out of my system, it's time to give a deserving congrats to Peyton Manning. I'll be honest , if the Cowboys couldn't be at the big show, my next pick was the Colts! I mean, heck where else in professional football do you see the likes of an all time great QB, who has the swagger and politeness of Manning? Maybe, just maybe LT, but i'm partial to Qb's! Loved Aikman and Manning reminds me of him, in all ways! But surely you didn't want the Bears to win the bowl, did you? they got ust what they deserved by sticking with grossman.
Here's a funny story for ya. My buddy Mike, HUGE Bears fan. Now people, when I say HUGE......I literally mean HUGE.... He could rival me as far as loving his team to the death! I claim to be the biggest Cowboys fan there is, and he claims to be the biggest Bears fan there is....ok so you get the idea. Anyways, 4th quarter, and as usuall the Bears are playing catch up football, grossman chunks the football up for grabs and I knew when he did, dropping back and passing off of his back foot, I knew what the result was, so I immediately grabbed my phone and sent mike a message who, I failed to mention was partying his butt off in chicago watching the game (he later told me there's nothing better than being at a party poker house watchin "DA BEARS!"). So anyways I message him "LOVE grossman" , lol he sends me a reply stating "I F*&KING HATE grossman!" For him to say that has become alot easier recently since lovey wouldn't put griese spot in to QB! Well, thought that was kinda funny but anyways "HEY MIKE, THERE'S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR AND ANOTHER SEASON WITH grossman!"
