WOW!!! what a comback
Jun 12, 2008 | 10:47PM | report this

Earlier today on JDizzles blog I guaranteed a Celtic win in game four. By half time I had set the oven for 350 and was preparing the "crow"  for a late nite dinner. A funny thing happened on the way to the series being 2 apiece. The Celtics decided to play defense the way they are capable of , and to attack the rim with a vengence on offense. after being totaly dominated offensivly in the first half the Celtics returned the favor in the second. shooting 53% and erasing an unprecedented 24pt first quarter deficit to beat the Lakeshow on thier home floor

Ray Allen was 100% man. 48 minutes of balls to the wall. an amazing wire to wire performance offensivly and defensivly 19pts, 9rb, 2 dimes, 3stl, 1 blk.

Rondo ineffective? How about Eddie House with some big shots

Perk goes down? Up steps Posey shutting down a red hot Odom and knocking down three point daggers

Doc Rivers having Paul Pierce gaurd Blobe one on one in the second half was a great adjustment. This allowed the help defense to get in the passing lanes and limit Blobes ability to distribute. They sagged off the screener on the pick and roll with Blobe and Pau to take away the bigmans cuts to the basket and easy layups.

I expect this game to have the same effect on the Lakers, as their 20pt comback in the conference finals had on the Spurs.

Gutsy, Gutsy, Gutsy comeback by the toughest team in the NBA . This was  the greatest comback in playoff history.

Incredible!

Did anyone see the look on Phil Jacksons face when the Celtics cut the lead to two pts?

He looked like he found out Jeannie had lined the cat box with his autographed 8x10 of the Dali Lama.

Floor seats to the game $22,000.

NBA throwback game jersey (Kobe #8) $350

The stunned silence in the staples center.... Priceless

There is no way I thought the Celtics could win this game after that first half. I had to take half a bottle of Xanex to save my new flat screen from an untimly demise.

Red is firing up a Cuban in that big cigar bar in the sky.

This one was for you big guy

As for me I shall be having the Surf and Turf. (Lobster and "Kobe" beef)

The fat ladys in dress rehersal.

 I can smell #17

 Celtics in 6

As a diehard, hard-core Lakers fan, I have to congratulate the Celtics for their great comeback. A choke is an easy way out. The Celtics just flat out manhandled the Lakers and got LOTS of open looks in the second half. Once the Celts took the lead for the first time, I knew it was over. The Lakers' hearts were ripped out. I don't think it's coming back to Boston.

A great comeback can't happen unless the other team accomodates the comeback team. The Lakers are as soft mentally as they play on the court, and I think this is where Bynum's absence really hurts, although nobody seems able to light a consistent fire under Odom and Gasol. Congrats to the Celtics, and enjoy title 17; there's no way the Lakers recover from tonight.

That was a bizzare game The Celtics were running around all over the place on defense in the first half and the Lakers especialy Odom took advantage and just flat out dominated scoring seemingly at will and dominating the glass.

The second half was a complete 180 I know the Celtics players deserve the lions share of the credit for the comeback, but Doc deseves some props. I thought he kept the morale up and made some great half time adjustments, going with a small lineup and spreading the floor to open up the post for KG and allow Pierce and Allen to penetrate for easy scores and foul shot opportunities. Also puting Pierce one on one on Kobe was a great move. Doc wont get any credit cause he's going up against Phil but so far in this series he's done the better coaching job

I'm still laughing my arse off after game 4.
I knew the Lakers would win this game, but, "I was wrong"(great tune) and this pig is finished.

Timely 3's made sure the Celtics won, just like the commie dropped in 3's in game 3.

I didn't watch the first half and have no regrets.

Not celebrating quite yet undereage. The Lakers have shown they are worthy opponents. it wil be very difficult to come back from this loss but all I have to do is remember the 2004 Red Sox coming back from being down 3-0 to the Yankees to realize anything is possible

Thanks for dropping by

The absolute greatest "Pro basketball" comeback that I've ever seen.
The Celts have been playing with what seemed "only" to be the Big Two..........Not last night though! Ray Allen finally showed-up for the play-offs and gave a real Ray Allen performance.

Great win for the Celtics. They took care of business, Lakers did not.

Anyone hear when Paul Pierce said as he was walking back to the locker room after the game, "That's how you do it! That's how you do it, muthafu...!"?

I'm interested in game five for only one reason.

I want to see how the MVP responds. Will Kobe pack it in? Or will he play like a true leader?

This game is huge for Kobe if he wants to leave a positive impression on his critics.
