Remembering an article and picture that goes back so many years ago, I will not attempt to put a time on it. But I recall (proably, fifty or sixty years ago) that a picture of a horse having had a leg amputated (again, I cannot recall whether it was a hind or front leg) and supported by a metal brace that wound around the shoulder or maybe the buttock muscle.
As I try to recall the article, the folks who owned the horse, just could not see having him put down. I had saved that picture for a number of years and had at sometime lost or misplaced it, but I am sure it can be recalled by someone as having appeared in a magazine or New York newspaper.
I just wonder why in this age, it could not have been done for Barbaro!
