Dear 14Falcons, I am sorry I was not able to collect Mr. DeAngelo Hall and bring him back to the North Pole with me on Christmas eve. However, through my magical abilities, I have been made aware that he may be sent flying as far north as Buffalo for you. There should be plenty of thin ice there for him based on my experience. I hope this makes you feel better. Happy New Year.
Your old friend,
Santa Claus
"I heard on Sirius NFL radio that the potential for (J.P.) Losman (and a third round pick) For Deangelo Hall is very high. Sirius made it seem like it was actually a 50-50 chance. ... Sniper Kn9, Buffalo Bills message board member
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Bills quarterback J.P.. Losman wants out of Buffalo, unhappy with how he lost his starting job to rookie Trent Edwards during the 2007 season. Losman's agent, Gary Wichard, told The Associated Press on Friday that his client would prefer to be traded, but added Losman would play out the final year of his contract if necessary. Wichard said he has not yet spoken to the Bills because the team is seeking a new general manager after Marv Levy stepped down earlier this week. Whether the Bills choose to keep Losman, Wichard said he didn't see any chance of Losman remaining with the team after next season.
"That ship has sailed, my friend," Wichard said. "Hopefully, they do something this year. And if not, we'll just walk away after next year."
Wichard said he spoke out now because he knew how unhappy his client is. He said he and Losman didn't want to air their views during the season so not to cause a distraction to the team. Losman declined numerous interview requests over the final weeks of the season, and also after Bills players cleaned out their lockers on Monday after a 7-9 finish, in which Buffalo missed the playoffs for a franchise record eighth consecutive season.
"I give him credit for handling this thing the way he has," Wichard said. "But at the end, he said, "I'm out of here.'"
The Bills were not immediately available for comment. Bills owner Ralph Wilson has previously said the team has not made a decision on Losman's future, and didn't rule out the possibility of the player returning for one more year. Noting the number of starters injured this season, Wilson told The AP last month that it might be important for the Bills to keep two experienced players.
Losman showed promise in leading the team to a 7-9 finish in 16 starts last year (2006). Losman also finished 13th in the NFL with a 89.7 passer rating. In eight appearances this season, including seven starts, Losman finished with slightly better numbers than Edwards. Losman completed 63.4 percent of his passes and finished with a 76.9 rating, as opposed to Edwards, who had a 56.1 completion percentage and 70.4 rating. Losman was the second of Buffalo's two first-round picks in the 2004 draft. Losman was awarded the starting job in February 2005, a move that led to veteran Drew Bledsoe being released.
Quinn Ojinnaka T #76 Atlanta Falcons - College: Syracuse - Played in 44 games with 23 starts in his four-year career at Syracuse - NFL Hi-light: Replaced an injured Todd #### (who is currently injured again and out indefinitely) at right tackle at Philadelphia (12/31). Uh, Ok. Next!
Harvey Dahl T # 73 Atlanta Falcons - College: Nevada-Reno - Named to the Outland Trophy watch list in July of 2004 as one of the top 57 linemen, offense or defense, in the country prior to the start of the 2004 campaign at Nevada - NFL Hi-light - Played in his first NFL game against St. Louis on September 17, seeing action in the San Francisco 49ers goal line offense in the second quarter. Ouch! Next!
Terrance Pennington OL #64 Atlanta Falcons- College: New Mexico - Pennington played his senior season at left tackle finishing his career with 27 starts. - NFL Hi-Light - He started the last nine games of the 2006 season at right tackle for the Buffalo Bills.
Finally, at least "a little" experience. Learn the offense soon Terrance. We need you bad. I hear it is fairly simple, for better, or worse!
MOVEMENT ON THE LINE: Atlanta Falcons Coach Bobby Petrino said Quinn Ojinnaka took reps with the first team Wednesday at left tackle filling in for Renardo Foster, who was lost for the year Sunday when he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Recently signed Harvey Dahl worked on the second team. The team also acquired tackle Terrance Pennington on Monday to fill Foster's spot on the 53-man roster.
It's damn frustrating to me that the Falcons can't do better than this when it comes to obtaining a decent Tackle. We have 3 million in Michael Vick's salary we are not paying out this year damn it! Spend it on a Tackle!
O.K. I have admitted I am naive. I guess I just want to trust people. I want to see the best in people. I mean, I even believed Clinton.
So consequently, I have been politically assasinated and fired in two jobs with city government. You would think I would be quite the conspiracy theorist by now. O.K. So maybe inside I don't trust people. If you see me write a mean streak now you will know where it is coming from. But to survive, I need to learn optimism.
So let me make this perfectly clear, I do not believe there is a coverup in the Michael Vick Bottlegate incident. However, the behavior of Miami-Dade Police Department sure makes you think otherwise.
Michael Vick
A security video showing Falcons quarterback Michael Vick surrendering a water bottle to a security screener at Miami International Airport was erased because it would not be needed for evidence. The Jan. 17 video was part of the investigation into the water bottle with a hidden compartment that an initial police report said contained a "small amount of dark particulate" and an odor consistent with marijuana. Authorities this week said lab tests showed no evidence of drugs, and the bottle is no longer considered evidence in an investigation. Vick was cleared by police of any wrongdoing. In a report on its web site, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said it requested a copy of the video on Jan. 18 from the Miami-Dade Police Department under the state's public records law.
What is Leon2114 smoking?
The Falcons GM came on National TV and was quick to ridicule Michael Vick before he even knew what and if the so called substance in his pouch was illegal. He was quick to put his self in front of the camera to make Vick look bad, now he shies away from the spotlight and makes comments behind the scene. He needs to make a public apology.
I'm With Detroitsports
Hi, I'm Michael Vick, I smoke marijuana but don't get caught for it because I play in the NFL. Who are you?
Matt Schaub
Due to the rising tenders for restricted free agents, Atlanta will be forced to pay Matt Schaub $2.069 million in 2007 salary to avoid receiving any less than a first-round pick as compensation if a team signs him. The highest, or "first- and third-round tender" for restricted free agents would require the Falcons paying Schaub $2.35 million in 2007.
Ashley Lelie
Ashley Lelie is scheduled to be a free agent after voiding the final year of his contract. Fox Sport's Jay Glazer calls him the best free agent wideout on the market.
Peerless Price and Ashley Lelie are two good receivers that left or are leaving Atlanta. Way to go Vick. Will any receiver want to come to Atlanta where their livlihood relies on an irresponsible quarterback that will never put up big passing numbers?
