SONOMA, Calif. (Aug. 26, 2007) - Canadian Club driver Dario Franchitti finished third in Sunday's Motorola Indy 300 at Infineon Raceway. Franchitti now trails Scott Dixon by four points in the IndyCar Series championship. Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan is in third, trailing Franchitti by 58 points.
Dario Franchitti, #27 Canadian Club Dallara/Honda/Firestone “The day was going really well for the Canadian Club team until Marco (Andretti) and I got together in Turn 1. Tony (Kanaan) and I had a similar situation on the stop before that and Tony opened up the door and gave me the room. I really want to look at it and talk to Marco. We're teammates. We look after each other and that shouldn't happen. I'm going to talk with him, look at the video and we'll see from there.”

Wasn't that something? The real kicker wws Kanaan had the power to pass Dario but failed to do so to protect Darios lead in the championship.Only thing, Kanaan let Dixon and Castroneves get by to place 1st and 2nd.. What a bummer...
hmm, Tony didn't let Scott get by him....Scott stayed out later and had a shorter pitstop which jumped him ahead of Dario. But with the cold tyres Dario got past and Tony couldn't....considering the last 2 races Dario had, I reckon he's glad he didn't end up upsidedown again, lol
I think Tez interpreted your "let" as a "easily let him pass" when you ment he "allowed Scott to get by, while at the same time racing him for the position."
Weren't you watching the race? Are you blind? Of course it was Marco's fault!
What do you think a Dario fan is going to say?
"He was out there on cold tires going a good bit slower. Tony and I had a similar situation earlier in the race. Tony had given me the space. Hell, even Dixon did it on cold tires. But Marco was out there trying to win the race, and we were out there trying to win a championship."
Falcon..My God..don't tell me it's true...We, of all people, are both Dario fans???? The race was pretty good example of the importance of teammates.Yes I agree with you, Marco showed the lack of maturity, and or experience, by coming out of the pits and trying to run to hard on cold and under inflated tires. Needed to admit that he was going to be passed and let Dario go. They both could have been very easily parked or on the hook.I hope you saw that Herman is in a truck for the race at Gateway..Would like to see that workout for him.The sport in general needs his type to keep the mood up..Hey got to run..Stop by and say Hi sometime..Did another scolding blog today if you have a minute..Later Masked Man..
I guess so. Do you have the orange Franchitti shirt? If we both showed up somewhere wearing that, it would be scary.
I like what Dario said about Michael being in a tough spot as a father and a car owner and maybe not being able to clearly see the big picture as a car owner.
I wish I was going to Gateway this weekend. But my wife is holding the purse strings. She better hold on tight or I'll wrest them away from her. I love the Herminator. But I want to see Kenny Schrader even more.
I think Herman may wind up still in the Furniture Row Car with Sterling this year and next year, unless Ricky Rudd decides he wants to run all the cookie cutter tracks and road courses in it while Sterling short tracks and restrictor plates it.
Better yet..Schrader and Herman on the same team.. Boy wouldn't those be some funny interviews..You know having your kid drive for you is like being the little league coach, who's kid is the best player. No matter what you do,or say, someone will be crying favorites..Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Hey good to talk again..Sweatin are #### off out west here..105 degrees last week.Cooler today, in the 99 degree range. Tonto, get my horse, we're out of here!!!!!!!
Funny you mention Schrader. A bunch of his fans are giving me hell on his board because I don't think he is the greatest race car driver that ever lived. I keep telling them that is Warren Wallace. But they apparently are too serious about my defamation of KS to even laugh at a joke.
It's funny, the same thing happened to me on the Sterling Marlin board when I admitted I do not kiss the ground he walks on. Apparently, you are not allowed to have a different opinion from the majority on these fan boards.
The best #### would be Herman, Schrader and Michael Waltrip. Those three would just be hilarious together.
Seriously, Rudd may share the 78 with Marlin next year. Or KW and SM may share it.
No problem. The written word must be interpreted. And most of the time it is the interpretations that get us into trouble, not what we intended to write.
BUT YOUR BLIND MAN! Marco left him no room to pass and Dario was closing fast with Dixon on his ####. Scott wasn't about to let up so Dario could not let up. If Dario had let up, Dixon would have rear ended him.
Danica had pit issues twice. Once she stalled it. She just can't do that and finish up front.
But she made amazing gains in speeds from the first practice through the fast six. Go back and look at it if you have time. It's pretty amazing what she accomplished.
