Kelly Bires At Home In Milwaukee
Jun 22, 2007 | 8:57PM | report this

Kelly Bires will drive the No. 47 Clorox Ford in Saturday night’s A####mp;T 250.  He is driving in relief of Jon Wood, who’s recovering from an adverse reaction to prescribed medication. Wood’s status at Wood Brothers/JTG Racing remains race-by-race.  Bires grew up 142 miles away in Mauston, Wis.  He considers The Milwaukee Mile is hometown track in NASCAR.

“Everyone at Wood Brothers/JTG Racing has worked so hard to make me feel comfortable in the Clorox Ford," Bires said.  "I know it’s not easy dealing with a rookie, but they’ve been real patient and that makes my job a little easier."

RACE INFORMATION:

What – A####mp;T 250 NASCAR Busch Series race
When – Saturday, June 23, 8:30 p.m. ET
Where – The Milwaukee Mile
Networks – ESPN2, Sirius Satellite Channel 128

Adverse reactions to ADD meds or not, Jon Wood is having neurological problems.  The bright side is Bires ran in the top ten last week at Kentucky.  Look out!  The Wood Brothers might have something here.

Move Marcos Ambrose into the 21 and give Bires the 47.  Tough luck for Jon. But #### happens.

I agree move Ken out, but shouldn’t Kevin get a shot at it before Bires? I know he has only a few years of racing under his belt but would be great experience for him.

As you well know, Falcons, I hope Marcos doesn't move up to Cup next year as he stands to gain more experience on ovals and in less spotlight by running the Busch series for another year than he would by jumping up to Cup.

However, all those points are valid and I can see him lining up in the #21 next year....provided they're in the top 35 in points. If they're not, then I imagine they'll stick with Bill Elliot for a while.

will,

I missed the race last night. I went out with the family to eat Mexican and see our acquaintences in the local community theatre production of "Ruthless", where we were introduced to some other people as members of the cast for High School Musical to some by our director as well. I really like him. He would fit in with us here on the board. He is a funny guy.

So what happened on the track and in the booth?

I'll have to try to catch a replay. I can't watch them all so I passed on this one given BHR is out of the points race.

Marcos was in the booth? Cool!

They had him do a V8 round last year after the Truck series was over and he was better than the other guys in the booth, lol

and your boy bires was a lap down and forced mugrave to the outside and got loose. took 'em both into the wall. of course ole' teddy, who hasn't been having the best season, was running in the top ten (i think). anyway he went over and drove into the door of kelly after the wreck and squeezed him into the wall. it just insured the kelly wasn't going to get another lap in.

I saw a replay. He will be penalyzed next week. Ted used to be a favorite. But he blew right by me when I wanted an autograph in the pits one time in St. Louis and pissed me off. Conversely, Robert Pressley went back in his trailer, got a Sharpie, came back, signed for some other guys that didn't have a pen and then signed for me.

cool, Falcons. It's actually for that same reason why I....uh, I'll whisper so no one else hears....whyIdon'tmindKurtBusch.>
He was the only driver I saw at last years Sonoma race who was in the merchandise truck signing autographs on race day.

Yeah, that's why I stopped hating him too. He was so nice when I met him at the NASCAR Cafe in Vegas last year.

Saw an old Jasper Engines Robert Pressley hat at the IRL race today and thought of this thread.
