Last Saturday afternoon's Busch Series Nicorette 300 contest concluded with Jeff Burton taking the honors in his #29 Chevrolet after crossing the line 1.064 seconds ahead of Kevin Harvick. But polestarter Kyle Busch was the class of the day leading five times for 139 of the 195 laps. However, he was forced to pit late in the race for a missing lug nut, giving Burton the break he needed.
Then on last Sunday in the Nextel Cup series, Jimmie Johnson owned race day after leading 132 of the first 238 laps followed by the most important final three, to register his second consecutive weekend win. However, again Busch's chances were hampered by his pit crew. This time it was a loose wheel.
These boys need to learn to hold on to their nuts, uh wheels, uh both.
It does appear that Kyle Busch has been jinxed by his pitcrews the last two weeks. Maybe his team can put together a string of successful pitstops and help him find victory lane before the season is over.
Loose nuts and wheels do not make any driver happy if you have a hot car. Naturally your wrath of the tounge will be shot in their direction justifiably so..Lately, it seems his pit crew does a good job of handicapping him winning a race. Although he does a bit himself too, I wonder if the pit boys have orders to goof off some times being it is a constant.
i feel for kyle and though his frustration is understandable, too much critisisum does nothing to help the team which normaly is as good as any out there bad breaks and mistakes are part of racing and will bite any one when least expected kyle needs to remember with this same team he had a car that dominated for 139 laps turn it around did the team say much when kyle pulled bonehead moves on the track last year no!! some things cant be changed its part of racing kyle is talented beyond his years things will improve and im sure kyles team shares his frustration
I hated it for Kyle the kids a hell of a driver.I missed his comments but i can imagine some feelins were hurt. This team is expected to contend with the other Hendrick teams. They set the bar for themselves last season and now the pressure is on for at least a top 5 finish in points.Kyle seems ready, everyone else is like a deer in the headlights,"oh my god its for real this time"is probably what some of them are thinking. They are professionals and that demands consistancy which wins championships above everything else.
Kyle definitely has talent, but it's raw. He constantly overdrives his car for position early in a run. Doing so leaves him loosing spots later on because he wears his stuff out way too soon. Blame it on his impatience because of his youth.
Once he settles down, matures and gets past the bad luck, then it's on! God forbid that there will be yet another Hendrick powerhouse for the field to contend with, but it will eventually be a reality.
