According to Mike Vick it was painful, very painful. But there is no mention in today's AP report of anything measurable regarding the injury he says he suffered Saturday night. In fact, if you read the full report, Mike sounds like he's taking it easy. Please allow for the fact that the AP reporter may have shaded it that way. But at any rate, I can see how some people would see it that way based on this report.
I can't believe, however, that Jim Mora or Art Blank would allow Vick to miss practice for the very important upcoming game with Carolina if there wasn't something to the injury. Yet, I find the fact that Vick is yet to make it through a full season without missing a start due to injury interesting. Is it because he runs and takes so many hits? Is he injury prone? Will he play through an injury when necessary?
One other thing. Last week Dunn didn't practice but played. Norwood practiced but didn't play. Now Shaub is taking snaps. Is this more shenanigans?
Oh well, you guys have at it. I am inviting it on this one.

After Saturday night's game, Michael Vick said he "felt a pain I have never felt before." Vick had to leave late in the Atlanta Falcons' loss to Dallas on Saturday night due to the injury. Michael says his sore groin has improved, even though he didn't test the injury as he took a reduced role in Wednesday's practice. He was listed as probable for Sunday's game against Carolina and reported the sore groin "feels better." Vick, who has never started more than 15 games in a season, has made every start in 2006.
Backup Matt Schaub took the majority of the snaps with the first-team offense as he prepares for what could be his first start since Oct. 9, 2005 against New England. "As far as going a long period of time without starting, it doesn't help you," Schaub said. "You've just got to be focused and stay sharp in practice." "I think if anything you're still fresh. Schaub attempted only one pass this season before going 3-for-5 for 33 yards when playing behind Vick in the 38-28 loss to Dallas.
Falc, you know I was coming in on this one. I have not read it, I will take your good word for it. I didn’t think that anything was wrong with him. But those who truly support him will find some way to challenge what you say here. Who’s the young lady wearing the Falcon jersey who is a big Vick fan! I hope she weighs in on this one!
Vick is worn out period, mentally and physically. Mora and Blank can see that and would rather Vick take a light practice (just throw some balls) to allow that groin to heal and return for Sunday. Also, Vick needs to focus and use some mental visualization to get himself in that tunnel and shut all the critics out.
A lot is riding on this game, and being that Vick has started all his games this season, missing practice Wednesday is not going to make a huge difference. Of course if Schaub has to start, he better practice a lot!
So sorry here for the rambling and you are without doubt reading (or smokin) tea bags! :)
The way it's been going lately though, they will keep us guessing and we will find out the answer on Sunday. Keep the faith though 14Falcons, I believe Vick will start Sunday.
