    Two for the Show!

Wednesday, October 15, 2008, 10:29 AM EST [Roy Williams]

After the mayham, negativity, and debocal of an experiment that we call Pacman, the Cowboys did something positive for the first time in 3 weeks.  After loosing to the Redskins, slidding by the Bungals, and loosing again to the Cardinals, Pacman flunking out of the NFL, Romo getting hurt, Mcbriar getting hurt, Felix getting hurt (for how long?) on a roster thats already depleted due to injuries (mainly defense), the Dallas Cowboys signed 4 year wide out Roy Williams from Detroit.

The offense has been off its axis, although still putting up huge numbers still seems out of sync.  Crayton has had drops, and continues to talk.  Owens...After the Bengals game, I thought was about to implode, but watching him do his part blocking against the Cardinals gave me more hope for him.  Hurd has been hurt almost all season, and Miles Austin has shown up for real!  True potential.  Roy Williams joining this crew will be such a positive effect for Dallas and Brad Johnson.  He is an explosive reciever, good at running routes, and another deep threat.  Brad Johnson is veteran enough that he will be able to find all his options when they're open.  Witten and Barber will be his outlets if the stew of recievers STILL cant get open, or cant hold the ball.  I dont see Williams having an immediate impact, but later on in the year, IN THE PLAYOFFS, he will be huge.

My ONLY concern is the defense.  The other Roy Williams to start off with.  If he's not injured, he cant cover.  If he cant cover, he horse-collers.  If he doesnt straighten up when he return from the IR, Dallas secondary could be in HUGE trouble with the absence of the Pac.  Same goes for Terrence Newman.  Injured, or getting burned by Hank Basket.  I do feel confortable with our rookie corners, for whatever reason that is.  Tashard Choice and Mike Jenkins have performed exceptionally well for rookies.  Id say better than most rookie "super-stars" such as Reggie Bush, Matt Lienart, and other floppish players (Bush has gotten better though).  Anyways....

Monday, October 13, 2008, 10:04 AM EST [Tony Romo]

First of all I appreciate the comments on these posts.  Im glad to get both sides into the discussion as often as possible.  But further bad news for the Cowboys is that:

Tony Romo is out 4 weeks because of a broken finger.

What I want to know is, did he play the entire game, or majority of the game with a broken finger?  Maybe that explains some of the TERRIBLE passes and decision making.  But even with the bad, you're tellin me he threw 3 td's and no INT's with a broken finger?  Hopefully the Cowboys can still create offense with Brad Johnson.  If not our D will have to start scoring touchdowns.

If anyone knows more than myself, feel free to enlighten.

Sunday, October 12, 2008, 07:59 PM EST [Arizona Cardinals]

As big of a Cowboys fan I consider myself to be, I was ashamed to label my self as such after todays game.  The Cardinals are a good team, and improving as the season goes on, but the way the Cowboys played was dispicable.  Negative points of the game for Dallas

    1)  OPENING kickoff returned for a Cardinals touchdown

    2)  FUMBLES galore, although only one was lost

    3)  Forced passes by Romo, almost leading to MULTIPLE interceptions.

    4)  LUCK bad calls that would have given Arizona at least 2 more turnovers.

    5)  Throwing deep on a 3rd and 2 in the 3rd quarter (maybe it was 2nd)

    6)  Blocked punt for TD

    7)  missed field goal

    8)  Missed opprotunity after Cardinals botched a short kickoff at the end of the first half.

The list goes on and on and on.  From bad play calling, to poor offensive line, to Romo looking more and more like a Rookie than he did his actual rookie season.

On a positive note, Barber looked good, Romor DIDNT throw an INT (thanks to Patrick Crayton), and Damarcus Ware got another sack, I believe 1 short for the NFL record for most consecutive games with a sack.

Ownes was also a blocking machine today, he did his part very well if I do say so.

Please, any trash talkers,if you must, this is the post to do so because I will agree with you 100%.

    Celts won't repeat.

Friday, October 10, 2008, 10:32 AM EST [NBA]

After a spectacular turn around season for the Boston Celtics, from worst to first in one season, their championship days are numbered for at least a couple of more seasons.  Other teams in the NBA have made moves similar to the ones that Boston made last off season.  Here are the teams to watch, the teams who will make up most of the playoffs.

    1) The Portland Trailblazers:  Greg Oden will finally play a regular season game.  Depending on his health, he could lead the Trailblazers to the promise land.  With the help of Brandon Roy, one of the leagues many up-and-comming point guards, the Blazers could make a serious run in the playoffs this year, and I expect them to.

    2)  Miami Heat:  Last seasons move to get Shawn Merion looked pretty lame, seeing how they ended as one of the worst teams in the East, but dont expect the same this year.  A healthy Dwayne Wade and newly aquired Michael Beasly will surely land them a spot in the playoffs.  We all saw what Wade can do when he's healthy, after almost single-handedly beating the Mavs in the NBA championship 2 years ago (or was it 3?) and being the brightest star among a team of stars in the olmpics - carrying the USA to its first gold medal in what?  6 years?  Regardless I expect great things from D-Wade and the Miami Heat this year.

    3)  Toronto Raptors:  Allthough they remain week at somepositions, they have 2 players who will make everyone around them better.  Chrish Bosh (another real deal player in the olympics) and newly aquired Jermaine Oneal.  Alot of people think that Oneal is over-rated, and not worth the money, but he will definatly have a serious impact on the raptors season.  Most teams in the league cant come up with one strong "big man" and the Raptors have TWO All-Star centers that the East will have to deal with.

    4)  LA Lakers:  PAo Gasols first full season with Los Angelos (sp? hah) could be one to remember.  I have a feeling that the Lakers will dominate the Western Conference, and maybe even win it all this year.  The competition in the West is thinning, where as the EAst is getting more difficult.  I expect LA to be at the top on the standings come playoff time.

    5)  New Orleans Hornets:  The only team I expect to give LA any sort of trouble in the West.  What was the wild wild west has now become the 2 team division.  I dont see any other teams putting up much of a challenge in this divion.  Watch Chris Paul have another breakout year and lead his team to the playoffs once again.

    6) Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz:  Utah went pretty far in the playoffs last season if I remember correctly,l and I expect them to make the playoffs again.  Its time for their coach to start winning when it matters, hes only been there for like 20 years and never won much of anything.  Rockets need to win more than anyone else.  With the talent on that teams, especially now with Ron Artest, if they dont win, you can expect a full fledge make-over in Houston.

    7)  Phillidelphia 76'ers:  All I have to sy is ANDRE IGUODALA and ELTON BRAND.....too bad Baron DAvis couldnt join them.  My money would be on the 76'ers in a heart beat.

Teams I dont much care for this year:  Dallas, San Antonio, Golden State, LA Clippers, Boston Celtics, NETS, KNICKS, and everyother team not worth mentioning.

Thursday, October 9, 2008, 12:41 PM EST [Adam Jones]

Adam Jones has seemingly done it again.  Although no presses are being charged, this could still hurt his chance at finishing the season.  I have a feeling that he will be suspended yet again, only this time for 2 or 3 games.  I do not see him missing out on the rest of the season.  I think Jerry Jones has too much pull in the NFL and I think Goddell will be leniant.

Goodall and Jones do not want to look like fools for re-instating Jones, so the punishment will be rather light, which in my opinion, is fair.  Jones is obviously struggling to stay out of trouble, but maybe a little more time is all he needs.

I hope, for Dallas' sake that Jones will grow up.
