    what the hell?

Monday, September 22, 2008, 04:05 PM EST [Chicago Cubs]

    Hello all,

As of this week, I could write about almost anything boosting my support of my teams.  The Cowboys won again, 3 - 0!  The US won the Ryder, AWESOME.  The dolphins beat the Pats, and what a beating it was.  But what Im concerned with is something completly out of the Dallas realm, kinda.

Recently, Eddie Veder (sp?) wrote a tribute song about the Cicago Cubs.  This song, isnt very energetic, or optomistic.  Instead, it rambles on and on about how, "someday  we'll go all the way".  What the fuck is this?  SOMEDAY?  Are Cubs fans so remorseful that they cant even have confidence when their team clinches a playoff spot?  "Curse" my ass.  Try living in Texas, where the Rangers are one of 2 or 3 teams, to never ever see what the world series looks like.

Also, They were talking about this song on the Bone (93.3 fm Dallas tx) and all they were doing was bashing the whole situation, kinda like myself.  I couldnt help but think, at least the Cubs have fans worthy and dedicated enough to actually write a song about them.  As pathetic, soroful, morose, or pesimistic as the song may be, at least they have one.  The Rangers have fans who only give a fuck when their competing with the Angels for first.  And after getting swept by them (or the Red Sox for a more recent example) completly lose face about what theyre cheering for in the first place.  The Rangers will be there soon, and so will the fans.  2010 will be a record year for attendance, and wins for the Texas Rangers.  Maybe then we'll get a damn song attributed to us.
