Chief Illiniwek's half-time dance has spurred controversy over the years on whether it is racist or not.  I don't think the dance is racist at all. Well, anyway, he'll have his last dance tonight as the Fighting Illini of Illinois take on the Michigan Wolveriens.

Chief Illiniwek pumps up the crowd at half-time. He is more than a mascot becuase a mascot is on the sideline all game. Chief makes a special apperance at half-time. The whole state and university respects him and it would be taking a big chunk of tradition right out of Illini games. Why would people think that the U OF I is trying to offend the indians? Plus, Florida state has an indian mascot and the seminole tribe took control and said it was ok. But there aren't many left of the illini tribe.

Well, farewell chief. You were great. Should be an emotional night in Champeign.
