KAMELOT is a Tampa, FL band founded by extraordinary guitarist Thomas Youngblood, and featuring the awesome Norwegian vocalist Roy Khan. Perhaps the best, most tasteful, and most skilled metal band to come out in this decade - they are my current favorite band and I'm busy collecting all their albums featuring Khan on vocals. He is the new metal god. Their videos are like watching movies - first class production, big budget, tastefully done, and evocative of the song they illustrate. Kamelot is an incredibly consistent band - I've just about never heard a bad song from these guys. Everything they do is tasteful - the guitarist is clearly a master, but he doesn't rub your nose in it. The keyboard player can blaze, but he does so judiciously, and instead is a master of setting mood and atmosphere. The drummer is an absolute beast and thumps as well as anyone. I can't say enough good about this band. Enjoy "Ghost Opera" - the title cut of their latest album. You'll see what I mean when you watch this spectacularly brooding video.
