Featuring: Kohl Benjamin, his
parents, & 3 Captains from the Douglas County H.S. Football Team!
We are privileged to feature real "Heroes Next Door" with
3 captains from the Douglas County High School Football Team, out of Castle
Rock, Colorado, along with Kohl Benjamin and his parents. While the Douglas
County football team was advancing to the Class 5A state semifinals, the
players found time to adopt an honorary member of the Huskies. Kohl Benjamin is
a youth league football player who was fighting his own battle. After he took a
hit at practice, the 8-year-old thought he had broken his arm. After further
examination, though, Benjamin was diagnosed with bone cancer. When the team
heard Benjamin wanted to meet the Huskies, they welcomed him and even made him
honorary captain at homecoming. Kohl's father, Randy, said the family has been
overwhelmed, calling the team's support "terrific and unbelievable."
Of particular note was when the Huskies got together in support of Kohl and
shaved their heads . . . right before senior pictures.
