Swimsuits and hepatitis ... the sign of a good party

Wednesday, February 28, 2007, 12:44 PM EST [Sports Illustrated]

There may have been an unwanted guest at the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue party.

And no, the Weird World of Sports did not crash the festivities. Not for a lack of trying, mind you.

A worker for Wolfgang Puck Catering has been diagnosed with hepatitis-A, leading to the possibility (albeit a very slim one) that party attendees may have been exposed to the virus while celebrating pop star Beyonce's debut on the cover.

The Los Angeles County Department of Health said the risk of illness was "quite low" but advised anyone who ate raw food at the February 14 shindig to get a preventive shot.

We can't help but note that one of the symptoms of hepatitis-A is vomiting, which means that the post-party plans for many of the supermodels in attendance may have been unchanged by the health scare.
