Steve Spurrier is a big proponent of the Fun-N-Gun offense, but at least one fan with a rooting interest in Saturday's Clemson-South Carolina game forgot all about the "fun" and then got a little carried away with the "gun" part of that particular offensive philosophy.
James Walter Quick was charged with murder in the shooting of Richard Allen Johnson -- reportedly the fatal result of a dispute over a $20 bet on the game between in-state rivals.
Clearly, Mr. Quick has never paid much heed to the old gambling maxim ... bet with your head, not over it. Then again, it's probably safe to say Mr. Quick has never done anything horribly productive with his head.
Not surprisingly, some adult beverages were allegedly involved in the incident. Which means between the gambling, the drinking and the gun play, Quick was just a stripper or two away from hitting for the sin cycle.
