    Seriously bugging me

A torn ligament in your knee ... or a beetle chopping on your eardrum?

Somerset High School (Wisconsin) football player Jake Asp has experienced both, and he says he'd rather blow out the knee.

One day after racking up a Middle Border Conference-record 362 rushing yards and five touchdowns during a 40-14 win against New Richmond, Asp woke up with pain in his ear. After it worsened to the point where a trip to a local clinic was necessary, it was discovered that a bettle had made its way into the senior fullback's ear, where it was in the process of burrowing into his eardrum.

"It was digging and biting into my eardrum," he said. "That went on for, like, 15 minutes. I could hear it - a whole bunch of loud popping noises. It hurt pretty bad."

So Kurt Busch should consider himself lucky. All the bugs did was ruin his wedding ... not his hearing.
