If you were ever a 10-year-old boy, you'll know the reflexive response to the question, "What's the capital of Thailand?" is to assume a defensive position with regard to the family jewels.
But if you're a 28-year-old high school basketball coach, you should know that allegedly rolling out that comedic gem, then cracking your players in the crotch is an unbelievably bad idea.
And just in case you've never been a 10-year-old boy or a 28-year-old high school basketball coach at any point in your life, the answer to the above query is Bangkok. Think about it for a second.
But we digress.
Gregory Lynn Burr, now the former coach at The Monument Academy in Monument, Colo., faces 39 charges for -- among other things -- allegedly hitting male students in the groin. According to court documents, one student estimated that some players were hit in the groin between 30 and 40 times. Another said the alleged attacks occurred at every practice, with Burr hitting players with his hand, basketballs and tennis balls.
And in the most extreme of the allegations, one student claims to have needed scrotal surgery as a result of Burr's alleged assault.
While those are two words no man ever wants to see in close proximity to each other, they do, however, suggest a possible punishment should Burr be convicted.
